LOL
“Doing something” would be more oil production and refining here in the US. Not begging the Saudis to keep prices down until the election, so dems won’t be hurt at the polls. Not putting 250,000 acres of land off limits to drilling the same week you further deplete our strategic reserves. Not having the NMFS put thousands of additional square miles of offshore oil fields on a prohibited status while groveling to China to put more of their oil on the world market. Not canceling a pipeline that gets oil from Canada down to the gulf for export on the world market, thus lowering the overall market prices. And the NEWEST refinery in this country was built when Joe Biden was still in his late 20’s - and he’s 80 now!
Countering any of those things would be “doing something”.
All Joe did was try (and fail miserably) to keep prices down until after people voted.
UNITED STATES DOMESTIC OIL PRODUCTION IS AT RECORD LEVELS RIGHT NOW.
What's the refining capacity?
Also increasing.

Decreasing it anything. It doesn't matter how much oil there is if we can refine it, prices will sky rocket.
Great, where do you want the next refinery to open? In your backyard? Down the street?

LOL. Joe presided over record American oil production. That must break Republican's brains. It certainly shreds their dumb talking points.
Anonymous wrote:Anonymous wrote:Anonymous wrote:So, when is Joe going to refill the SPR he brought to record lows prior to the midterms?
The person really in charge of spr policy is an isrseli-Jew who was on the board of naftogaz (Ukraine) — amos hochstein
Suffice to say, what’s best for America isn’t his top priority
No - the person ultimately in charge is Joe Biden. He chose to drain it prior to midterms to help pull his poll numbers up.
Now, it needs to be replenished.

Why bother investing in keeping a supply of filthy oil, when we as a nation are shifting to renewable and zero-emission options? The SPR is a thing of the past - a dinosaur!

Which is totally not an emergency. The whole thing pisses me off and I hope we don't have an actual emergency where we would need to tap an empty reserve.
It's an extreme emergency. The republicans attempted a coup not long ago and and are a threat to our democracy. If they get in power, the end begins. Use the reserve if it helps.
So what you’re saying then, is that the president needs to both attempt to manipulate the global oil market AND use our own emergency supply of oil in order to interfere with an election - so that dems don’t get clobbered next month?
Put another way: “we have to manipulate the election to make sure it’s a ‘fair’ election for us”
Yep. That’s the modern democrat party.
Bravo. Give yourselves some applause.
The republicans have no standing to lecture anyone about modern election behaviors. Sorry. You don't respect election outcomes do I don't respect your opinion.
Just curious - how long will it take you to respect democracy again?
Why would you care? You have your new order. You win or you throw a temper tantrum to get your way. You don't care what I think...you tried to throw my vote in the garbage.
I don't even know why you bother with this thread or with voting or elections. Just gather up your thugs when needed and get what you want by violence.
Listen to yourself. I was disappointed in November 2020 that my guy didn't win and horrified on January 6. But that doesn't mean I've suddenly become a progressive. I think you guys are wrong on policy and I will continue to advocate for what I think is right for our country. You're suggesting that everyone who thinks like me is wrong not just because of policy but because we are bad people. Only one of us thinks that about the other side.

The irony is.. if you have to exclude Republicans from your "democracy" then it isn't really a "democracy" to begin with.
Wrong. Criminals are not allowed to vote and it’s still a democracy.
Are you suggesting it is a crime to vote R?
Give it a couple more years of democrat congress. They’ll get around to it.

Does this mean that when the US gets involved with a ground war in the Middle East, we can only use tanks when its sunny out, or at a range of no more than 30 miles? Will there be charging stations stations along the way?
You misunderstand the purpose of the strategic petroleum reserve.

The amount he’s releasing will have zero impact on domestic pricing and you may recall that much of the last release found it’s way to China which didn’t seem to make anybody in the media at all curious.
