This. It's no fluke of nature.
And, it's actually harmful to perpetuate a "miracle" if it's anything but.

To all the people out there TTC - it elicits a false hope.
Celebrities are ALWAYS lying when it comes to medical stuff like pregnancy or plastic surgery.
Considering how us fans put them in a place of pure privilege > you would think we deserve more in return.

The rate of identical twins with ART is much higher than natural conception. You never know with people if they aren't open about treatment.
This was my sister’s MIL and my SIL’s grandmother so we definitely know they didn’t have fertility treatments since none existed at the time.
Ok, but its still statistically very rare, your two anecdotes doesn't change anything.
So why can’t Hilary Swank be one of these cases?

Honestly? She’s too thin. Surprise pregnancies at that age don’t happen to super skinny women. They just don’t.
It’s like you’re posting from the 16th century. She can’t get pregnant — she doesn’t have the birthing hips for it!
I was one of those surprise mid 40s babies and my mom weighed 90 pounds soaking wet. Unless you are thin due to malnutrition, weight has nothing to do with fertility. There is however a genetic component to fertility at advanced age. It runs in my family so I had my tubes tied at 40.
All fertility doctors know that the very skinny women have a harder time conceiving and carrying to term. It’s accepted as fact in the industry. Come on.

Anonymous wrote:Anonymous wrote:Well it is somewhat problematic. She's a public figure. I have a decidedly ignorant friend who is in her 40s and thinks she is in no rush to conceive. And she actually cites all the celebrities you see having babies in their late forties as proof that it won't be tough for her.
That’s her own weird lens, not someone else’s responsibility.

Based on her filmography it looks like she’s worked pretty consistently throughout her career. She was never known as a box office draw and wasn’t one to be on the cover of magazines/tabloids. Given Hollywood’s ageism against women, her resume’s not bad at all.
I'm with PP. Her filmography does not match that of a two-time winner of the Best Actress Oscar. She's the only one in this generation to have won that award twice and it puts her in some very esteemed company (Elizabeth Taylor, Bette Davis, Vivian Leigh, Jane Fonda, Sally Field, even Meryl Streep (although she got a 3rd Oscar in the Best Supporting category as well)). Hilary Swank won her second Oscar in 2004. Where has she been since then? It looks like she started producing her own films, most of which sound terrible and hover around 20%-40% on Rotten Tomatoes. Her Netflix show was canceled after one season. What gives?

It’s creepy and ungodly. And then we have sad stories shoved down our throat when it goes badly, eg Jimmy Kimmel, Markle, Christy Tiefan.
Oof. Blessed be the fruit, weirdo.

You’re wrong, again.
