I mentioned this in the other thread but did anyone go to graffitis on Rockville pike? It was a gangster themed restaurant. I still have one of the paper guns from it

there was a movie theater by that hamburger hamlet . Saw some black mamba movie there in the very early 80s

Casa Maria restaurant just outside of Tyson’s mall. We thought we were just the epitome of cool when we’d go there with friends.

My parents used to call Sutton Place Gourmet, Glutton Place Gourmet. They thought they were so clever. Also used to love going to Hamburger Hamlet on Old Gtown road. Crown books was our go to before Borders moved onto the scene.

And they were in the same shopping plaza in McLean!

We used to get our plastic poncho style with plastic mask Halloween costumes at Dart Drug.

I loved Chesapeake Bay Seafood House and my brother and his friends would go on "All You Can Eat" night, which is probably one of the reasons they went out of business.

Picture of Garfinkle's. It was on F St. I loved this store. It smelled expensive. I had a summer job there and they gave me my first credit card.


We used to go to the one at Tyson's. They had beautiful formal/prom gowns.


PP Garfinkels prom gown model. I modeled at Springfield Mall. Garfinkels briefly brought some upscale clientele to the mall. It’s exit contributed to the malls trashy downfall.

I remember both. I also remember Garfinkle's, Hecht's, and Woodward and Lothrop. I'm really old! When I was at George Washington there was a cafeteria with religious prayers at each table but the food was good and cheap. I don't remember the name. Anybody go back that far?


I remember the department stores above. They were all at Tyson's Corner mall. My mom would buy expensive outfits for occasional dressy events from Garfinkel's --think Joan Collins in Dynasty type outfits.

Yes, up on the third floor it had cobblestones and gt looking storefronts, used mostly for offices.
my memory was it was the ground floor. Did they have other themes?
