It’s totally a petty crime! He didn’t even hurt anyone! So he’s naked, don’t you ever change in a locker room? So he’s yelling, big deal. It’s up on the rooftops not even bothering pedestrians. Really only a bigoted Trumper would be concerned by a naked raving POC running around the rooftops of their neighborhood. On the news footage apparently that woman whose house he broke into looks like a POC and she says she’s upset, but if you look closely I think it’s a spray tan and she’s just another racist NW person living in their bubble of privilege and frightened of anyone different from them

Democrats won more votes for president and for House in 2020 (by 5 million in the House) and were only 1 million short in the Senate. While I agree that the sentiment that started this thread is inane and/or dangerous, I don’t know if I agree with the idea that Democrats are generally failing to win hearts and minds. If our system granted political power to parties that advanced more popular agendas, rather than to parties that do well in underpopulated rural states, Democrats would have a lock on government for years to come.

This is all just beyond parody. No one cares about petty crimes. Everyone understands that comes with the territory. What we're talking about is violent crimes -- homicides, rapes, assaults with dangerous weapons. Those are up 50 percent in one year. Also, not only are there virtually no Republicans in this city to begin with, but there's no evidence that crime is disproportionately pushing them out. This is all just the weird fevered dreams of the young, liberal and stupid.

OP, I cannot imagine being so privileged that I cheer for robberies and car jackings because it means my neighbor with the annoying politics moves away. Like this is deranged.

I am entirely unbothered by Rs in DC, many of whom are never Trumpers anyway. There are so few of them and I'm not required to hang out with them, and they have no power in local politics. But I am pretty concerned about the serious public safety issue that makes my neighbors and I feel afraid to go out at night and also reflects a generation of young people in this city who are going to be lost, yet again, to the cycle of juvie-prison-unemployment-drugs. It's bad.

Rs are always moving out of DC, even when crime is at all time lows, and claiming it's because it's too dangerous. I didn't pay attention then and I don't pay attention now.

You need to get your priorities straight.
