Yeah - for similar reasons, it's definitely not just a "safety" for my DC either.

+1 DC is very interested in their STEM programs. Amazing campus rec programs and Ft. Collins is more laid back than Boulder.

The vast majority of the schools depend on the grades you report (Common App, SRAR, or uploaded transcript at end of jr. year). You only need to submit a real transcript, direct from the school once admitted and you accept.

We were looking at New Mexico at one point. Anyone who graduates with a 3.0 gets in state tuition.

My daughter will be applying to Radford and ODU next year. She spent a couple weeks at Radford for a program in summer 2021. It has good programs for the majors she is considering.

Another east coast school to consider is Slippery Rock in PA. They have a tuition reduction program for oos students who graduate with a 3.0. And even without that, the tuition is not crazy.

A couple privates on our list are Shenandoah (VA) and Rider (NJ)

Was it last year that Pitt had 600 more freshman than expected accept. They do the math and they get some great students and the students get a gret education. Why all the hate?

My kids all went and graduated from out of state schools to which they applied EA. They had not visited before applying and getting accepted.
