Why? Didn't new AP work out for Silver Creek?

That AP was force-placed by central office. Would have been great to hire Bibeault at SCMS. Now we are stuck with an AP with beyond questionable judgment, and we have now lost one of our best science teachers and the 6th grade team leader to Westland. Way to go, central office.

SCMS parent here and I am so frustrated by these changes. Our students keep getting the short end of the stick. My child already has one class taught by a long-term sub, one class taught by two part-time teachers, and now the science class will have a string of subs.

My kid had a long term sub for science for the entire 6th and 7th grade years at SCMS. I made my displeasure known and insisted they give DC an actual science teacher this year in 8th. utterly ridiculous.

Ugh. Did you discuss with the principal or someone else in the school administration? I am concerned about these disruptions and poorly thought out staffing changes. Pulling such a strong teacher out well into the school year without any kind of plan or time to transition to a new permanent teacher is unacceptable. It seems like central office imposes many of these terrible decisions on the school and leaves the school administration to defend it. They all need to do better.

Which "strong" teacher and where? Sounds like whoever teacher this is, is here lol.

Are you saying there are no strong teachers in mcps? There are many amazing ones, and it sounds like that new Westland AP was one of them.

I believe app is referring to the SCMS science teacher (and 6th grade team leader) who was just appointed as AP at Westland.

meant to say PP not app

If it makes you feel any better, my child had the actual science teachers (no subs) and not much was learned. The curriculum is weak and uninspiring.

And did they?
When school admin says that school is fully staffed, are they counting long term subs?? Are all MCP MS science programs un/understaffed?

Yes, they did. I don't know if any other 8th graders have a long term sub this year, but I am glad it's finally not my kid. There needs to be some meaningful prep for a high school science curriculum.

Is the AP here talking about himself?

No. I'm definitely not the AP. -PP
