Nobody here is right wing. That's the problem. The regular Democrats are invisible to this administration.

Bingo.

Pray you will never be a victim of a crime or need the police. Idiot.

I live in eastern MoCo. Not TP, but Glenmont. We already don't have much police presence and lots of crime and bad driving. Most of the police seem to be on the western side of the county anyhow, so won't affect me that much. Not as much of an idiot as you think, if I don't already get the services why should I vote for them to be funded even more?

The western side of the county is where you’ll find court buildings and the detention facility, two reasons you may see more officers there.

Police are assigned by district. You're in 4D (Wheaton) I'm guessing. They have just as much manpower as the other districts, but maybe you aren't in places where you'd see them out in force. The only district that is staffed at a higher rate is 3D (Silver Spring).

Then explain to me why I see police cars galore when I am in Bethesda, but almost none when I am back home in the 4th district? I would assume the districts are staffed evenly, but they sure do seem to congregate in well off areas. Not just the police, same with road maintenance and the like.

We don't need more dense apartments and condos built in east county to appease developers, which then turn into section 8 housing in 20 years or less. We already have plenty of that.

Not to mention lots of sad shopping centers that need someone to force these owners into redevelopment. Believe it or not, I've seen improvement since Elrich was voted in.

It's not funding that matters so much as respect from their boss. The County Executive. He is their boss. He needs to act like it. Instead of throwing them to the dogs every chance he gets.

It’s true that districts are staffed similarly, but 4D is facing severe shortages right now. That may be the reason the PP is seeing more crime and fewer police. To the PP who lives in Wheaton: if you want that crime resolved, you’ll simply have to support policing. We need to make the job more attractive so more people apply, and that can’t be done by electing people who regularly speak against policing.
