It is NOT. Any thread about moving to "West Virginia" is useless unless it is about a specific town or local area that you can actually determine if it is the right fit for you. Otherwise it is just garbage useless posts like entire thread, aside from 2 or 3 posts.

We looked on the eastern panhandle area. Paw paw, Capacon, Wardensville. The prices are still 5-10k an acre, which is decent. And like $250 for property tax. But the nice houses are in gated communities. It had a real haves and have-nots vibe, which felt so uncomfortable as we drove by trailer parks situated next to 775k homes in gated developments
You didn't look hard enough. I'm typing this in a house in WV that's worth a lot more than that, in a neighborhood of other high end homes -- with neither gates nor trailer parks anywhere in sight.
Alright well good for you? I can't afford more than 800k for my second home and frankly don't want to. And I don't want to "look hard enough" to see past racist microagressions k?

PP living in WV. I recommend the eastern panhandle (towns already mentioned here like Shephardstown, Harper’s Ferry etc) or around Thomas & Davis/Canaan Valley.
