And the rest of the most entitled creatures are men.

What kind of lifestyle do you want, OP? I make $200K, my DH makes about $100K. We have the lifestyle we want and my DH works very hard and it an equal partner to kids, home, etc.

I knew what kind of career my DH had going into our relationship and I also had a clear idea of the kind of HHI we would need to achieve the life that I wanted to live. I also knew that DH was a hard worker and someone who is very focused on family and community. Those are important to me - as much as the money element of what he brings to our lives. ...

So what is it you want? That is a good place to start. You could be with someone who makes a million dollars but who is always traveling, works insane hours, and/or is keen on different priorities than you. Or do you just want someone who keeps you comfortable and you have the credit card and live large? The money is important but it's only part of the equation.

Please… at least some are smart enough to know what they want and what really makes life go smoothly.

I think you’ll have to compromise on either looks or income. You can either get a tall hot guy who isn’t as successful as you’d like or get a less physically attractive guy who is more successful. The guys who have both are in much smaller numbers and will want a younger hotter woman.

Some of them argue cases before the Supreme Court. Some of them become federal judges.

Every DOJ lawyer I know is a GS15, unless they are SES. A federal retirement is worth as much as $3 million.
