Exactly what is your point OP? That kids are a lot of work? Yes, water is wet. We know.
Just childless family members trying to control the holiday plans and put pressure on us to travel more than we already do just don’t get it.

Childfree people know how much work it is and that's precisely why some of them chose not to have kids. It seems like a lot of people with children have given it much less thought before having kids and are shocked at how much work it entails.![]()
Yes!!! I’m child free and constantly amazed at parents who act like it was a shock that parenting is hard. Don’t blame me because you didn’t know what you were getting into by having kids.

No, nannies get it. I had no surprises going from being a nanny to being a mother.
+1. Same. I got it when I was a nanny and knew what to expect in motherhood. Motherhood is actually easier than being a nanny.
Same. My sisters were so shocked ...and I was like I only spent 20 years of my adult life caring for kids. And yes it's easier the only nonsense I have to deal with is mine lol

Ok but you chose this right?

Why do they need to get it?
They need to get it in light of the current reproductive freedom crisis. So many of the anti-abortion side thinks pregnancy is no big deal, and you can easily give up a baby for adoption, or that raising a child is not that hard.
Ok, that's a leap. The truth is, you CAN "easily give up a baby for adoption." There's a line of takers out there.
Once you’ve carried that baby and given birth, do you know how hard emotionally it is to place a child for adoption? It has lifelong mental health consequences for birth mom and the child. I’m an adoptive mom and find it disgusting that people leap to “well then just give the child away”.
