It will not. It will reach an inflection point (if it hasn't already) where it's just not worth it. Factor in technology skills which can be better learned elsewhere (not college) combined with mass scale automation, college in 18 years will be something entirely different.

Working at 70 isn't sad.
Lots of people will probably live to 100 now. That's 30 years to goof off. Better to work until you really can't anymore.


+1. My dad still works (consulting) at age 80. My mom (age 75) has her own business and still works. They do not need the money. They are bright, active, happy, and healthy. Meanwhile, my in-laws are fully retired and seem to be bored and kind of grumpy.
