I would have got a restraining order, not gone on a date with him. The fact he was married would have been a non-starter w/ or w/out the tire situation.

She didn't know he did it. She thought he just happened to show up in her time of need and drove an hour out of his way to get her home.
I would feel so violated and be so upset if I found out about this later. It would seriously tell me I was dealing with a psychopath and I'd wonder what else he was hiding...well an affair from his wife at the time!!
+1 There’s a GREAT Law & Order episode from way back in the day where the death of a widow’s first husband gets investigated years later, after she married his best friend, who it turns out killed her husband because he wanted her for himself. The last line is something like “what do you do when you find out you married your stalker?”

Their new son-in-law sounds like a real trustworthy stand-up guy. I bet they knew he was a creep at first impression and kept quiet. Now this confirms their intuition was accurate.
It doesn’t confirm any intuition when you don’t even know what they thought of him.
1. He was married trying to get in their daughter's pants.
2. He was married with kids trying to get in their daughter's pants.
3. He had power over her employment while trying to get in their daughter's pants.
