He's not remotely incoherent. He says "what does that title mean, A good Day to Die Hard? Maybe it could be Get a sandwich and go shopping" he was pointing out that it is a nonsense. And it is.

I was looking at his movie history - he was in his first movie with Chad Michael Murray in 2017. Now, nothing against CMM, I'm a huge OTH fan as well as his holiday movies on cable, but he is not A-list material. So I'm thinking he started doing these bad movies where he gets top billing but is only in a few scenes as far back as 5 years ago?

This is so sad. I just think of him as the pinnacle of a huge star. Remember those Seagrums golden wine cooler commercials from the 80s? Honestly I am happy we have an explanation for why his acting was so terrible in recent movies, it felt like he didn’t care but instead was just struggling.

So that begs the question why he did all of those movies last year.
Not clear if he was contracted to do the movies before his symptoms / diagnosis, or if symptoms began and he couldn’t get out of the projects, or if he was symptomatic and still wanted to continue filming for some reason.
Seems unkind to release details about his poor acting now knowing this diagnosis.

The Razzie announcement was in Feb. Perhaps they’ll walk that back now.

Bruce Willis in Moonlighting was my first celebrity crush and I still love him, but he was definitely familiar with the Razzies even when he was perfectly healthy. You can’t be that prolific and not make a bunch of duds. But when he was good it was amazing.

Same, have crushed on him since Moonlighting. I wondered if he made all of those B films recently to stockpile money for his family, knowing he’d need to retire soon due to this condition.

I think that was the deal, yes. He made a contract with a producer to give his name to a bunch of straight-to-video movies in exchange for money, and the producer was aware of his need for specific supports. Both benefitted.

Between Moonlighting residuals for syndication and the many millions he was paid for years of blockbuster movies, why the hell did he need to do that?

Because he has 5 kids with 2 different women—2 of whom are quite young, and their mother doesn’t work. Plus, he might need costly care as he ages. Smart to quickly get paid before he had to retire.

3 of his kids are adults, and his net worth is hundreds of millions. He didn't need to make any more money for himself and his family. Did you read the LA Times article? He didn't know where he was or why he was there. That goes way beyond having lines fed to him.

I’m sure he wanted to do his best to provide for his family. Let’s be real: his family is accustomed to a luxury lifestyle, and none of them are equipped to work. His youngest kids are very young, and their mother doesn’t work. They’ll be caring for him as his health declines. Their estates are massive and will require upkeep.

I’m baffled as to why anyone would blindly accept anything written in the LA Times article. It aims to paint a picture that Bruce was pimped out against his will. Do you really think his family would allow that? They appear to be a tight family. Bruce was literally living with Demi—presumably to help him. Zero chance she would pimp him out.

The LA Times article was a cruel hit piece. His family clearly rallied to break the news themselves since they were tipped off that it was coming.

It really wasn't a hit piece, it made no accusations against his family. But without the article he'd be on to filming another five movies this year.
