Preppy handbook! Lol oh yeh horrors!

But why it is necessary to put it down? It doesn't hurt anyone to dress preppy.
Preppy is white Americans. It's not for everyone.
No way! Some of the preppiest people I know are Black or Asian, and they totally kill it.

Preppy = Classic
Trendy = Low Class (even if it's expensive)
The only difference I notice in European preppy is they wear tighter, shorter clothes (I'm referring to the men). Boat shoes or driving mocs, it's all the same.
PS - Stop hating on Vineyard Vines. Their clothing is very comfortable and washes well. I think their polos last longer than Ralph Lauren (which has been hit or miss; some of their polos seem cut weird) and their t-shirts are super soft. Lacoste tends to shrink and run small.
The bolded= white people.
While there are Asians (mostly East Asian) and black people that dress preppy and look good in it, they are considered to look good in it because the style is acceptable by white people.
Preppy= Classic white people clothes.
American doesn’t equal white.

Also rich American women:
They don't look rich to me, more like paycheck to paycheck.
That's not preppy. That is not the "Kennedy sportswear' prep, east coast prep. That is the frilly, over-done stuff I was talking about in a different post.
This is the understated, Greenwich prep:

My goodness, I forgot how simply beautiful and elegant she was, such a loss.
So if she wasn't beautiful and elegant it wouldn't have been a loss.

Interesting. I have always thought preppy is for white people and some Asians. The rest of us mostly steer clear.
