People here care more about the rankings of HS teams than the people at ML and IL that create the rankings.

Prep should be ranked above PVI.

They have 3 quality wins over Loyola, Gilman and Malvern Prep.

PVIs only quality win is against St Stephens… a two goal victory over the Heights is a bit concerning.

Anyone who knows PVI program, they always tend to start out hot out of the gates and then fade as the season progresses.

The IAC teams will all play each other, and that’ll be that. Getting spun up about it now is a waste of time and energy.

Bullis will beat STA by at 4+ goals when they meet in April.

Beating Sidwell, the Heights, and Blue Ridge doesn't say much about your program. Losing to Severn and Springside Chestnut Hill from Philly aren't good losses either.

I expect STA to finish in 5th place in the IAC this Spring as Episcopal looks awful.

I agree that Bullis is the stronger team, but the nice thing about independent rankings is that they only look at what has actually happened and the numbers. This will all play itself out once the teams start playing each other and the first few weeks of ratings are always a little crazy as we begin to see how the teams shape up.

First they are just barely in first place 87 to 86.6 so it's not like IL is saying they are dominating.

1) The only common game both have played is DeMatha. StA won 8-5 and Bullis won 9-8 - this is probably what put them over.
2) StA is the only team that has beaten ANYONE with a winning record

I do think Bullis has "stronger losses" and that will show over time as the teams continue to play.

Anyone understand how Inside Lacrosse creates their rankings? The IAC ranking this morning has changed and STA is now on top. How do they make this stuff up? How is STA on top of IAC? Who have they beat and who have they lost to? No name lacrosse teams, nothing worthy of being ranked first. Bizarre and totally makes their rankings seem illegitimate.

IAC rankings above are a joke. STA plays easy teams in pre-season so their wins mean less that other teams who are playing nationally ranked teams. They also just lost yesterday to Chestnut Academy, whoever that is. Bullis just lost to Haverford who are ranked 23rd nationally, while Prep beat Malvern who is ranked 20th nationally. Rankings above are nonsense.

If the Heights upsets PVI on Friday it could be wide open in the rankings.

This would totally screw up the rankings, but is entirely possible. Where they put PVI, Albans, Heights, and DeMatha at this point would be a coin flip.

True. If the defense held them to 6 goals they win. Defense not good.
