I’m immuno-compromised so will continue to wear a mask. It’s unfathomable to me that people might give me the stink eye for it. I don’t GAF if you don’t wear a mask and I respect personal choice at this point; that’s how it should be. I don’t get the animosity. You can’t always tell if someone is having health issues.

I’m in Los Angeles and while California is now mask free, we still have it wear them in LA county. It’s stupid so I buy fake masks on Etsy to ‘comply’.

Unvaccinated is an excuse. Most people here are vaccinated. Vaccinated spread Covid. It is airborne.

You should be trying to support people getting vaxxed and not denigrating the vaccine. By the numbers - any way you dice - it the unvaxxed who are the majority of the deaths and that’s even with the majority of the country being vaxxed.

The vaccine is only helpful to reduce the severity. It’s personal choice. No one should be bullied into it given the unknowns. If someone unvaccinated dies, why do you care? It’s on them. Or, do you feel guilty as you transmitted it to them and caused their death. Simply precautions like masking and distancing can prevent deaths too.

When the community transmission rate where I live falls below 10 cases per 100,000 population. I think there should be some metrics around this decision; it shouldn’t just be based on feelings. My family is vaxxed/boosted. No one in my house has had it yet (knock wood). We go to stores, school events, work, travel some, and basically live our lives, but wear masks. When omicron surged we upgrade to better masks and suspended indoor dining.

I know there is nothing magical per se about the 10/100000 but it keeps me from making exceptions based on emotion and is an easy bright line rule for me and m family. If I’d already had omicron I would have a different threshold.

First of all, I haven't had so much as a cold since the pandemic started. My last cold was in July 2019.

Also, my skin has never been better. I couldn't believe the change in my skin during 2020 when I started working from home and not needing to wear makeup.

Two close friends asked what work I had done and I don't think they believe me when I say nothing.

I know this doesn't happen for all and maskne happens in some. I feel lucky.

For reference, I have struggled with my skin being red, blotchy, and having patches of dry skin near my mouth for pretty much my whole life.

Stopped as soon as there was no mandate in my area last year. Had one reinstated dec 31 to a few weeks ago - wore them then because I didn’t want to get in a stand off with a business or worker who has no control over this and is just doing their job enforcing the mandate. But once it was lifted, no more masks!

I Agree that people can make their own decisions and there might be certain people who have specific circumstances, (like some posters mentioned - pregnancy, caregiver for elderly person, etc.) where they might want to keep masking. And I’m not telling you to stop if you want to — but I dislike mask wearing being normalized in society. You lose something not seeing faces and I think it’s a weird thing for my kids. I also hate how service workers are still being required to mask and patrons aren’t.
