Sat Feb 26th at 11:30 at Liberty MS. Vienna/Nova Cavs coach is the 4 seed vs. the 5 seed team.
If he's such a great coach, I wonder why he's coaching the Vienna D2 team instead of their better D1 team.........
I went to watch it and was so impressed with the other team’s commitment to play all ten of their players. I’m not sure I saw him make more than one substitution. He won by 2 points though. The other team had a couple of good little players but they all played and subbed out for some time. This is what’s right when you are impacting the confidence of 10 year olds. Kudos to a good game played by all.
This is travel basketball, not rec. Usually, there will be 8 or 9 players on rotation with the close game they had. The Nova coach played at least 10 players today with 2 Dnp.

I have no respect for coaches who can't get every kid on their team meaningful play time. A kid who isn't good enough to play shouldn't be on the team and a coach who can only win playing his starters is a sh!tty coach. Especially 5th graders....
Different coaches has different philosophy.
Anonymous wrote:Anonymous wrote:The Vienna coach had two kids who sat on the bench and didn't play in the game at all? Is that what you mean?
Yes and there were 2-3 others who barely played. He didn’t use the bench in this game and the boys on it looked bored. The other team played everyone and the boys looked content. They also had two of the best guards in the league and didn’t play either too much more then the other guards. Different philosophies.
