Slinging insults less so as we try to move forward as a people who all care about America ( or in this case our city). Let's hear the guys platform. Not everyone is DC is pro bike lanes (ask the black churches bout that) or pro paving over all our greenery and building shoebox luxury condos for singletons.

I'd say that once he collects those he may be a good option for everyone to vote for. DC Republicans are usually VERY moderate, and he'd be a good balance to our far left Council if so. I'd like more info on his platform.
Anyone who identifies as a Republican after the past five years is a sociopath.
Fail. I know MANY steadfastly anti Trump Republicans who are waiting to see what the party does next and may switch to independent. Trump is no longer president and they have every right to evaluate.

Tricia Duncan and troy Kravitz need to be held accountable for this mess.
What are you going to do Katherine Samolyk? Keep spreading rumors about them on every listserv in Ward 3? I’m surprised you haven’t received a civil suit yet.
DP...there is one person on the task force who is running for public office. Why shouldn't she be held accountable for this abysmal process? Is this what we should expect should she win the Council seat?

The claim was made that the redistricting done after the 2010 census had systematically diluted the influence of people who live in multi-family dwellings (ie apartment buildings; ie renters).
I don't know if this is true, but if it is then the objections to the Task Force's work suddenly make a lot more sense. All of the talk of "gerrymandering" and "voter suppression" is a cover for outrage that others are being treated as equals. One Cleveland Park resident seemed to say the quiet part out loud when he suggested that the Task Force "back out" renters from their population numbers and only look at homeowners.
As a compromise, the renters could count as 3/5's of a person.
Ding. Ding. Ding. Ding. Ding.
One person from the MacArthur area actually went out of her way to post to the listserv her position that renters should not have the same day as homeowners because their “investment” in the community was not equivalent.
And, by the way, that Foxhall lady is nuts.
Errr, their investment is not as great. I mean, I'm fine with them speaking up /contributing, but factually speaking their material investment is just not as great.
Errr, that's not how democracy is supposed to work.
