Don't listen to the rejected moms. They thought it was a school they could get in, but rejected, so got mad now.

The school is actually underrated considering the stats, acceptance rate, and performance.
As you can imagine from the stats, the kids at Northeaster are very smart and hard working.

If you get into a T25ish school, you are most likely to attend the school,
otherwise schools like Northeastern are becoming the next option for a lot of the smart kids..

It's not for everyone but a huge number of high achievers applied from my DC's school (and, no, not as a "safety"...they are applying because it really appeals to them, especially for STEM and design.)

Also in some fields employers explicitly state that relevant work experience is more important than where you went to college, even for new grads. College with strong coop programs are very popular for this reason.
