Or maybe it’s just Montgomery County falling apart.
Agreed. I’ve lived in this county for 15 years and have watched this county decline in so many ways. Our County leadership is a disaster.
Yes, people continue to elect the same type of people.

Watch the interview.. really upsetting.
It's tragic but I'm pretty sure this is not the kind of thing the board of education handles. It seems like you just want to use this family's tragedy for your own political agenda.
Wrong. When your child's needs aren't being met you ask the school for a different placement. This is done for thousands of kids every year.
The law this falls under is called FAPE. Free, APPROPRIATE, education.
Students are sent to different schools of their intellectual level is higher or lower than peers. If their social skills are different than peers, if they have genetic disorders, even if they have adhd and for some reason their needs aren't met in the classroom at the home school.
It sounds like she asked, was denied and appealed to the board of education and was denied again.
We don't know the reason for her claim but whatever the reason was probably behind why her child was being bullied and she was right. Northwest was an inappropriate placement for her child.
You're speculating a whole lot here. Why not wait for the facts to come out?
So you have now shifted from trying to discredit a grieving mother to parroting language used after police shoot someone?
Some this is wrong with you. Like deeply and seriously.

Anonymous wrote:The kind of people who would accuse a grieving mother of lying are just unfathomable to me.
I will say, when our child was assaulted and bullied at a well-regarded middle school, not only did the school administration refuse to punish the aggressors, but they accused my child of asking for it. Since some of the aggression was sexual, this was beyond the pale. Furthermore, although our transfer was approved, the initial COSA was denied and "no evidence of bullying" was cited, although in fact there was a wealth of evidence, including police reports, doctor's reports, and video. They wanted so badly to sweep the entire thing under the rug that they let us leave, but disguised the reason.
By that point we were all so angry and disgusted that all we wanted to do was go so we took the deal.
I'm not against MCPS as a whole and I think it's quite a stretch to blame this tragedy on the entire system. I suspect it's more like our case: some individuals dropped the ball. I'm sure it happens all the time.

You are either wrong or intentionally lying. The Board of Education takes up student transfers and placements at every meeting. They do it in closed session so no one can watch them continually deny parent requests. Parents are never allowed to speak or attend these hearings. It's all done behind closed doors to keep parents and the public in the dark.
This parent may have a legitimate concern about their child's placement, but linking it to the child being murdered outside of school feels like a bridge too far. If I disagreed with my child's placement and my child was later killed in a car crash, that would also not be the BOE's fault.
I have sympathy for a grieving mother here, and wish her the best in this tragic circumstance. If you aren't this grieving parent, maybe take a step back and recognize that these two events don't seem to be related.
I mean.. this had to be the board of education member that keeps posting her. Right?
Mom to board of education: please help my son. He is being bullied at school and I fear for his safety.
Board: no.
And then the child (who is a 6 foot tall guy, not someone an unknown kidnapper would lure away) is found dead in the woods.
Evidence at the scene leads the police to treat this as a homicide.
You are lower than than scum st the bottom of a pond to co.e on this board and try to cast doubt about what happened to that mother's baby.

They can talk all they want about ‘equity’ and standing up for vulnerable families but at the end of the day MCPS/BOE has caused so much irreparable harm.
100% THIS! A friends daughter was being bullied and they kept denying to move her to another school. Their restorative justice BS put the perpetrators in a room with the victims which only escalated the attacks. The daughter had a breakdown and MCPS didn't give a shit but they were on board with their extra week of vacation! They can all f themselves.
Sadly, there are numerous stories just like this one. My daughter's friend (they're in middle school) was incessantly bullied by a boy who also sexually assaulted her. The school's response was to put the victim and the assailant into a room where the assailant got to express his feelings of pain with stories on how his father abandoned him..tears in his eyes and everything. Daughter's friend felt guilty and they literally hugged it out. Two weeks later, the assailant did the same thing to another girl. MCPS response? Move the kid to another middle school. What a load of sh*t!

Is this to make you feel better?
+1 if you want to make yourself feel better, start caring about special needs kids. Start caring about kids who don't do well in a school with 2000 others. Because some times those kids do so not well , they don't even survive
I looking at these principal twitter pages with memes and bs "we stand with ... xyz"
No you don't. You don't stand with them at all.
I have a kid with special needs. I don't need people telling me to care.
I want to send the mother a sympathy card but need some kind of address. Anyone can obtain the school address.
Have you ever heard of Google?

His mom. It’s on camera. Is that enough proof for you?
