Not OP, but this past year I bought a BEAUTIFUL Burberry coat that was $4k and a Christian Dior full length Mink vest for $11K. Where do I where them? The Burberry coat when I go out to a nice lunch - it is WARM! The mink rarely, but it's a statement piece. I wore it to the Kennedy Center for the Leslie Odom concert and people stopped me the piece is so stunning.

I also have several other bombers and reasonably priced coats. I have a lot of coats.

I want to show this entire thread, but especially this post, to the OP of the thread "why is DC so liberal?" DC has a lot of Democratic voters. It is not, however, a liberal place.

I imagine the fur looked a lot better on the minks.

. To actually address your question, Nordstrom has an Icon Tier for $15K+. There are LOTS of terms though, trunkclub.com but not nordstromrack.com. Free basic alterations on FULL price, but not SALE. Etc. I would also check the underwriter of their cards (Barclay's, Citi, etc) to see if you feel good about that bank-Saks had a huge data breach. Unless your stylist has a similar body and coloring, I've had better luck going on poshmark and finding my size or an outfit I already own that I got a lot of compliments on and looking at her closet. The time I saved the most money was when I didn't buy any sales and bought any and all outfits the day of the event at full price. The most when my favorite store was going out of business and I was trying to "save" it. I am still an Icon rewards there, but am yet to redeem. With pandemic still tailing off, maybe look into US Bank Visa Sig. 5% back at dep. stores card and just shop each item at all four stores for the best price.

I'd feel ashamed to spend that much on clothes, especially during the pandemic. I live comfortably, not lavishly, by choice and am grateful to live in the U.S. and have a more privileged life than most people on this planet. I know that I'm fortunate and gain fulfillment by helping others. To each her own, and I certainly can appreciate fashion at times, but this thread is pretty depressing.

I am a personal stylist, one of my clients just asked whether 25k is enough budget for a spring wardrobe refresh.

20k per year is reasonable, it's all relative, all depends on your income, etc.

^ For high end stuff, your prices are actually low. Three pair of sandals for $500 - even Tory Burch sandals are over $200 pair. Many, many denim brands are over $200 a pair (Mother, Moussy, etc start around $228), and if you buy athletic clothes at Lululemon you would blow through the budget you gave. Vince sweaters are often $400 or more. Golden Goose and other expensive sneakers are $500 a pair. My point is that it would be pretty easy to run through a lot of money for brands that are great but not “designer.” For people that are truly wealthy and fashion—conscious, $20k would actually not go far. That’s why in celebrity divorces, you see outrageous monthly clothing budgets. I’m sure there are plenty of wealthy people who you would never guess spend far more than $20k a year. I definitely know people who spend more than that -we haven’t talked about it, but I can tell by their coats, shoes, bags, etc.
