You are right that they are bluffing but they don’t want that much, just removal of some sanctions and the go ahead for nord stream 2


That went out the window when they expanded their demands to include sacrificing Romania and Bulgaria.

Lol, that's what Russia has been doing. But now theyve gotten impatient and believed their own disinformation. They've overplayed their hand and rather than tearing the West apart they're bringing us back together. This is a collosal choke job by Putin. He was so close to winning but now he's lost. So what can Putin do in response to Nordstream-2 getting canceled and to getting frozen out of SWIFT?

Also, the soldiers fighting in Russia's war would be part of their Baby Bust generation - 12.5 million Russians born between 1988-1992 (post-Soviet chaos) and 6.5 between 1998-2002 (economic chaos).

Militarily, Russia could size Novorosiya (land bridge to Crimea) and some area around Donbass with relative ease. After that they'd be hitting areas with more hostile demographics.

Of course, a lot depends on how much the Ukrainians have planned for Operation Gladio type operations. (i.e. stay behind and wreak havoc)

Russia's gotta keep their army supplied.

We have no internal weakness. What we have is a bunch of idiots on one side and a bunch of whinny cry babies on the other. But I do think Putin sees weakness. It is that miscalculation that will cause the loss of life. Putin will go too far. He can eat the Ukraine but he will go further. Any attack on NATO is the ball game. All of this I lay at the feet of Trump for giving us the impression of weakness.


And it looks like Putin just went too far. Bulgaria, the Soviet Union's former enforcer and the NATO member most willing to give Ukraine to Russia, has not taken kindly to Putin's latest demand. Every day NATO becomes more unified. Rather than falling apart the alliance is being renewed. This is looking like a huge Russian miscalculation.
