But treating them like property is fine, and authorized, and you are given guidelines for doing so, new testament and old.
Ephesians 6:5-8
Exodus 21
Christians are not bound to the ordinances given to Moses by God as part of the covenant between God and Moses's people. Those were nailed to the cross. But not 10 commandments.

Minister here. It doesn’t exist.
I must have a different version of the bible.
eviticus 18:22 and Leviticus 20:13
The Book of Leviticus in the Old Testament has two references condemning homosexuality: "Do not lie with a man as one lies with a woman; that is detestable" (Leviticus 18:22) and "If a man lies with a man as one lies with woman, both of them have done what is detestable. They must be put to death; their blood will be on their own heads" (Leviticus 20:13).
There's more in there.
Yep. Jesus made a point of saying his followers didn’t need to follow all the older rules, mostly they just need to love each other and love God.
Romans 1:26-27
Acts 15:29
Jesus said to love one another, he didn't say only love the opposite sex.
Um, he meant platonically. You cannot be serious.
Sexually, he instructed we should be celibate, but if we cannot, we should "marry."
So as long as gay couples marry, they shouldn't be going against church doctrine. Got it.
No. The Bible says homosexuality is wrong and there is no gay marriage in the Bible. For example, read Romans 1:26-27 and 32. That's post-Jesus too.
The Bible is totally clear that homosexuality is a sin. Even after Jesus came. It's irrefutable.
But, Jesus said we should not judge others, and the Bible says you break one commandment you break them all. In short, we are ALL sinners, including church goers, so we shouldn't judge other people's sin. We need to keep the focus on ourselves.
Romans are Paul’s letters, this isn’t from Jesus. Many don’t regard Paul the same way as Jesus.

So I would explain that gently and lovingly to my child. She wants to be a nun so it's not like she'd be giving up anything she's not already planning to give up.
That's pretty crazy. What church teaches that BS?
All of them.
That’s what every church that has an issue with homosexuality teaches.
What? I thought churches taught that you could commit adultery by lusting in your MIND. So just thinking of adultery was a sin.....and thinking about homosexual sex is not a sin? What a bunch of BS.
How does this make no sense to you? Wanting to do something and actually doing it are not the same thing.
a). Not lusting after your neighbor’s wife and not committing adultery are two separate commandments. They aren’t the same thing.
b) I don’t think we are talking about married people here.
It’s not a sin to want to be with someone when you are both single.
If you are single isn’t it a sin anyway? The thought of being with someone (lust) or actually being with someone (fornication)?

In b) lust is lust. You should think about someone because you love them not because you lust them.
I’m guessing that you haven’t been married long.
