I sobbed a storm!

By the time they get to the final3 they are all winners - they are experiencing so much stress! The production makes a good attempt at simulating the tension, the frantic efforts, and we can only imagine how it really feels. To me it seems that by the end if they made it that far they are all winners and so relieved to be done.

I hope there are more series!

Oh my gosh, me too. I really liked the finale - though I was sort of surprised about the winner only because of how this episode developed.

I am so glad to see them all gracious and friendly during the shows. In a US version you'd have people complaining on camera and talking about how they got robbed and wanting to burn it all down. Even if there is some false-ness to this friendlier, more laid back tone, I prefer it.

They don't get into backstory/family stuff until the final episode when there's a brief feature of the three finalists.

I think it could be Covid-related, bc previously they would show all contestants with their family, their home, employment, etc. at some point during the season.

Yeah they did do it a lot more on earlier seasons - and it was often awkward and embarrassing. The show changed channels in the UK and production staff so there was a minor reboot of that kind of thing. Thankfully. Also loving Noel.

Noel is surprisingly funny.

He and Matt are both awful. I miss Mel and Sue so much.

NP. I can’t stand Matt. Noel is bad too and only marginally better than Matt. Neither one can compare to Sue and Mel.

I don't know if that's true! She has produced some really gorgeous looking cakes - and obviously I can't taste them, but her description of the flavors makes me really want to take a bite. Is it possible she's so pretty it blinds us to her talents?

That is possible. IMO though she has made some fairly basic mistakes, which for some reason, I expect in Chigs because he has been baking for the least amount of time maybe??? Anyway, I have her cornered in a 'more style than substance' category but you're right that perhaps I need to reevaluate that!
