Yeah, I was fairly pro-Democrat until a few decades ago, until in a horrifying moment of realization I saw that the Democrats were exactly the ones causing the problems they were telling everyone to avoid.

My kids will have the chance to get an abortion in VA or MD or another blue state.
Is Youngkin really a step to taking that away?
Op if your greatest concern for your daughters is where they will be able to get abortions, you have totally failed as a parent.
100% this. I have more pressing concerns for my kid than how close we live to an abortion clinic

The current system seems to be working just fine for me and others in my non-white community. Though we do tend to spend a fair amount of time after school/weekend school due to FCPS's low expectations and lack of elementary school homework.
As for an "authoritarian", I think Youngkin just said he's going to let localities handle COVID policy, which seems to be the opposite of authoritarian.
Isn’t the issue that Youngkin supports the national GOP effort to overthrow our democracy and the 1/6 coup?[b]

Good post. I agree that schools are way too easy these days, starting at the early ages. No child left behind means all children learn less on average. The “dumbing to the average” syndrome. Sigh.
