The best thing to do is get some word of mouth references on the club and the coach.

Girl answered: “I’m trying to prevent someone from getting beat up.”
Cop asked: “Who is trying to beat up who?”
Girl answered: “I’m trying to prevent the two BSC coaches from beating me up.”
Cop answered: "Wow, you have one over zealous imagination! All I saw was two BSC coaches yelling at you to look both ways before crossing the street, and then make the run!"
Not an imagination when it's on video.
Is there something terrible on this video?

Love all of these anonymous posters. Throw stones from every where while never announcing where their DC plays. It is so cowardly. So that is how you are judged. Coward. Just like how you are raising your DC. Run from criticism. Run from insults. Run from tough love. Just run away from anything that might hurt your feelings or pride. Sounds like a great life lesson to be successful in life.
I am a proud BSC/KL/SC/DG/ET parent. My child is growing under the direction of these coaches and playing better as time goes on. She does not let the criticism get to her and learns from it. She forgets the insults and remembers the compliments (which are also given and not discussed here).
Judge me now fine, but I’ll judge you my kids are your kids boss…because they learned how to take criticism and work hard at an early age.
That is all. Enjoy your participation trophy.
THIS.

Not all kids are the same and as such, different techniques work for different kids. My kid doesn’t respond to this style of coaching but I know some very good parents and extremely skilled players that went through BSC to Ivy League universities and report to have coaches that yell way worse than anything you will hear from these local coaches. Oh and these university coaches ARE women.
Being a female coach doesn’t mean that they should or be allowed to be toxic. Just Google it and you will find out how many toxic coaches (male and female) have been fired due to their abusive behaviors towards their players. Just because a player (adult or youth) can sometimes handle the toxicity and verbal abuses doesn’t mean parents should condone (or support) the bullying behaviors. Geez.
