Yes to holding for bottles and prenup soothing or after a upset but I don’t call that cuddling.
And your DD shouldn’t have language delay since she wasn’t with masked caregivers in infancy. My DD is talking up a storm through her mask at 20 months but she was able to see faces as an infant.
Look, I truly Hope masks have no ill-effects, but if they do it was still the right decision to mask.
So the WHO and ECDC got it wrong?

Your baby will be okay. Really.
Not op, but how do you know? Really! Can you cite any research on this?

+1. So true.
Nobody said that you losers
Stop embarrassing yourself, PP.
I have a child in daycare and that is absolutely the DCUM sentiment and you know it.

It's possible there is one that isn't (I actually doubt that, if that's true they are flouting public health guidance on proper child care).
Define “cuddling”?
DP with a 16mo in daycare and no indication of language delay. DD has been at daycare since she was 4 months old. Infant and early toddlers (<18mo) are picked up by caregivers on arrival, sit in caregivers' laps for storytime and reading books, held for bottles and any soothing required before naps, hugged and held for comfort when needed, etc.
They aren't kept at arm's reach or more all day long. Caregivers are masked. all are vaccinated, although of course that's only been the case for the last 3 months or so.

DP with children in daycare...actually, I see a LOT of anti-daycare sentiment on these boards. You know, the people who think that you shouldn't have a child unless you can either SAH or afford a nanny.
And, no, I don't think daycare is perfect. But my children have both thrived at our daycare, so we've been happy with our choice.
Another DP and I agree that there is definitely anti-daycare and anti-nanny sentiment from SAHP and weird posters who don’t even have kids! But there is also no room for debate or questioning daycare among those of us with kids in daycare. It’s as if there is no room for improvement and no possible downside especially now when we truly do not know if masks will effect bonding and development (no one know that). Yes, I am generally very happy with our daycare but that doesn’t mean I wish they wouldn’t let my four-year-sleep so long or lose his clothes (both topics I was attacked for even mentioning on this forum). I wish there wasn’t such a turn over in staff. I wish there was a subsidy to pay the teachers more. I wish the teachers had the time to hold my baby more.
I don’t have a problem praising our daycare for the great job they do but I don’t want to get shut down and called a loser for being worried about my baby’s caregivers being masked.
I agree with all of this.
