Subject: 2023 Girls Recruiting
Are there girls who play on these teams who don’t want to play D1? Good, strong athletic players who just like playing or maybe want to a school that os “top-tier” lacrosse?
I wonder how much peer and club pressure there is on these kids to go big D1, instead of prioritizing other factors.

Ah, thank you for the “clarification”. (Light sarcasm intended). I have no 2023 horse in this race, but fret not Capital parents, based on this poster’s review and opinion, when comparing Capital players committed to Top 10 lacrosse programs (4) to the No. 1 and 2 2023 teams: Top Guns (5) and Grizzlies (4) - your “mixed bag” of lacrosse players are holding their own just fine. Not too shabby a share of what may be about 60 - 70 total recruiting spots.
Best of luck to all the girls in their process - for whatever reasons they choose to purse a school/lacrosse program.
Do you really think there are only 60-70 recruiting spots? Try about 4 times that. Scholarship spots, over 100, but recruiting spots? Hundreds.

Well, it's quite specific to the Michigan commitment, isn't it? Think about it, why would PP be on about it so much? And there is one very angry and vocal Michigan defender. Coincidence? Those of you on the parent sidelines of games may know just what's going on here. Just a thought.

Capital is no more of a "mixed" bag than other clubs, but their 2023's are doing well so far and are sure to have more committed by the end of the fall season.

Subject: 2023 Girls Recruiting
The comments on here are so funny. You realize that these are girls that won't be on the college team for two full college seasons, and probably won't be contributing for at least 3-4 college seasons. What a team's RPI and ranking was in 2020/2021 is irrelevant. What ultimately probably matters to them is where is the team in 2025/2026 and are they happy with it.
Yes, there are top programs that are generally consistent, but other programs grow and get better. Coaches change, players transfer. No one can predict with certainty who will be in the top ten in 2026. Kudos to the girls that have been deemed good enough to compete at the next level wherever it is at and the clubs that helped get them there. They should make their decisions on whatever criteria they want and go wherever they are happy, whether a good lacrosse school, academic school, party school, support school, or maybe they just like the colors.

I have no 2023 horse in this race, but fret not Capital parents, based on this poster’s review and opinion, when comparing Capital players committed to Top 10 lacrosse programs (4) to the No. 1 and 2 2023 teams: Top Guns (5) and Grizzlies (4) - your “mixed bag” of lacrosse players are holding their own just fine. Not too shabby a share of what may be about 60 - 70 total recruiting spots.
Best of luck to all the girls in their process - for whatever reasons they choose to purse a school/lacrosse program.
Jesus..I didn't say mixed bag of "players"...I said mixed bag of "lacrosse programs". Which is true. And I also said they are all fine schools and kids pick all sorts of reasons to go to a school. My godness. Comprehend much?

Exactly. It is more than just lacrosse. And people are fools to think otherwise.
There are many bitter people right now. It has not gone unnoticed that Capital now has nearly half of the team committed. And the only other DMV club with a commit is VA Metro with (and YJ South if you consider them DMV).

I am not a Capital parent, but have to give props where due. The number and timing of the 2023s commitments is impressive. Capital, as a program, clearly had their ducks in order to make this happen. I would not worry about the poster(s) knocking the schools. It comes across as sour grapes IMO. Most know you choose a school first, then the lacrosse program. What's the point of playing lacrosse for a school if you would not like the school if lacrosse were taken away. I think they call it the broken leg test. And the numbers suggest about 1 in 4 will play all four years, so you better enjoy where you go.

Regardless of the rankings, if you wouldn't want your kid to be aboe to go to Michigan as result of their lacrosse achievements you are crazy. It is rated the top public university in the country from a variety of sources right now. They education they would receive is top notch, and the facilities they have access to by being a top athletic progrsm in other sports is heads above ACC schools. If my kid had the chance to go to Michigan it would be a no brainer. You are a moron for thinking otherwise.
