We had a neighbor with bamboo—whenever it came up in our yard, the dog would pull it up. I think he was pleased we had a stick garden. If he missed one, I would just chop it and let the kids play swords with it. It was not a major headache. The neighbors eventually dug it up.

My neighbors have bamboo. Occasionally I will see a shoot maybe once a year. I pull it out, done. People down the street whole side was bamboo. They chopped it to just below ground, seeded and it hasn’t come back. They mow it I’m sure. Non issue.
Lol, your own post describes how it is invasive, spreads to neighbors, and can't be easily removed. You made the opposite point of the one you intended.

of course. it can be mediated. If I found a house I really wanted, I would have the wherewithal to deal with bamboo for sure.

My home has non-invasive bamboo in the side yard. We've lived here 16 years and it hasn't spread.

No don’t do it. I have a friend who bought a house with bamboo yard. She once told me that if she could do it all over again, she would never buy a house with bamboos. It’s impossible to keep them from spreading and taking over.
