Question - if DD's school cancels their relationship with Yay Lunch and I have money left on my account - does Yay refund it?

Sheridan does!

NCS does.

Anonymous wrote:Hmm, nothing from yay lunch or SSSAS about stopping there, but maybe it’ll still happen. Would t be surprised if it shows up in tomorrow’s weekly newsletter. The school has added two other lunch options in the meantime because yay has been so terrible. My kid packs lunch anyway, but says he sees almost no one using it anymore.

As anticipated, SSSAS announced the end of Yay service in today’s weekly newsletter.

Our K-8 Catholic School uses Vignola Gourmet and my very picky eaters love the hot lunch they get from their service.

Vignola is awful, in our experience. Turned out kids into lunch-packers every day. So maybe that is better in the end!

Same here. So far no word from our school (NOVA, outside the Beltway) or from Yay.

Update- just got nearly simultaneous emails from Yay and our school.

Yay Lunch isn't shutting down entirely. Apparently they're only servicing their "highest performing" schools now.

Yay lunch uses local restaurant. It looks like uber eat/doordash for school to me

Just toured a school today where they said they use Yay Lunch. Either they haven't been informed or that info hasn't made it to the tour guides.

Also go that email at Norwood. Not shocking--it was really going downhill. Seemed like a great business idea and their website was well designed but ultimately, we had to stop using it this year--unreliable, not healthy and really pricey. Hoping we find a good replacement vendor!

Who does WIS use? My kid said lunch during the shadow day was amazing…nothing like a typical school lunch in his experience.

Families at Green Hedges in Vienna were just notified. Too bad because my son was very happy to see the return of several of the restaurant options at the beginning of this month.

Business must have gone very badly at Yay Lunch to suddenly shut down mid year like this. Didn't they enter into contracts with the schools?
