Mitch is the GOP - why would he despise it?
He just got cocky. He won re-election in November 2020 under the same exact scenario while blocking virtually the same exact proposal. And so did 7 other Republican Senators. It was a gamble and he lost.

How concerned have you been about McConnell’s “accountability “? Or Trump’s? Or the tilted Supreme Court? It’s funny how quickly the shift to “accountability “ and even balance and bipartisan cooperation becomes a thing when bullies become losers.
The focus of social justice etc and far left are not going to help and will sicken the vast majority of normal people

Black people saving our asses again. ANd the gov't and people in this thread will be talking about how we can't specifically reward the with policies that specifically benefit them despite ignoring that every other minority group in this country receives policies that specifically target them despite them not doing half the work black people continuously do to keep our democracy afloat. If black people stop caring, stop voting. We are screwed.
I'm thinking Rs will say that there was fraud in that rural predominately AA county. 96% turnout by poor black people? No way.. there must be fraud there.. says the Trumpsters.
People are asking questions about the three counties that had massive machine failures.

As an Indian-American Hindu, I started off today by praying to Lord Ganesha (the remover of all obstacles in my Hindu faith) before I donated to the campaign of the Reverend. I hope that Ganesha and Jesus (and Allah, Buddha and all the gods and holy figures from all faiths) work their magic and defeat the demon Trump and his minions.
And for me, the heroes of this year are the Black Americans. Thank you for everything. And Stacy Abrams - you are a Goddess!
Until everything gets certified, please just pray for these two victories for the Democratic party candidates. We are seeing too much death and destruction and we cannot see America destroyed by evil-doers.

I am praying Maa Durga - Mahishasur mardini, durgati nashini!
Lots of your fellow Indian Americans have been saying lots of prayers. I got to tell my mom that praying finally worked!

This has been stated again and again.... Trump is an idiot and he and his cult followers constantly shoot themselves in the foot; their strategy can be summed up in the adage "cut off my nose to spite my face".
Think about how Trump handled covid and the messaging around it in relation to the covid vaccine. If you keep saying that it's just a flu, and the pandemic is a hoax, then people who believe you won't get the vaccine, which prolongs the pandemic, which is IMO one of the reasons why Trump lost, because of the way he managed the pandemic.
That's just one example of how Trump shoots himself in the foot.
The man lost millions of dollars over the years. Everytime being bailed out by his father, stupid bankers like deutsche bank, and then who knows who else. Complete fraud and all he's been doing since the election is projecting. I don't understand the people that still fall for his crap.

+1 same here.. former R turned Independent, siding with D. For the first time in my life I donated to an election, the GA one, triple figure.
cheers to you. thank you.
