A part of me wonders if he did this in exchange for some agreement. Mitch can be a B, but he is no dummy. Maybe it was his FU to a GOP that he despised? We never know all of the story. No one does.

Mitch is the GOP - why would he despise it?

He just got cocky. He won re-election in November 2020 under the same exact scenario while blocking virtually the same exact proposal. And so did 7 other Republican Senators. It was a gamble and he lost.

The GOP is the prison of filth he created for himself. I agree that he is a cocky arse wipe. I dunno. It’s one person’s pondering, nothing more nothing less.

How concerned have you been about McConnell’s “accountability “? Or Trump’s? Or the tilted Supreme Court? It’s funny how quickly the shift to “accountability “ and even balance and bipartisan cooperation becomes a thing when bullies become losers.

The focus of social justice etc and far left are not going to help and will sicken the vast majority of normal people

If Rs want to continue to fixate on their hurt feelings, their persecution complexes, and being upset over great injustices like not being able to freely use racial slurs etc, then that's fine. They'll be left behind where they belong while actual normal people move forward without them.

Black people saving our asses again. ANd the gov't and people in this thread will be talking about how we can't specifically reward the with policies that specifically benefit them despite ignoring that every other minority group in this country receives policies that specifically target them despite them not doing half the work black people continuously do to keep our democracy afloat. If black people stop caring, stop voting. We are screwed.

I'm thinking Rs will say that there was fraud in that rural predominately AA county. 96% turnout by poor black people? No way.. there must be fraud there.. says the Trumpsters.

People are asking questions about the three counties that had massive machine failures.

I have asked several times which counties and which precincts had these failures and which legitimate news organization is reporting on them, and have gotten no answer.

McConnell didn't do this alone. Trump saying their votes won't count was very helpful to the Republican self-own.

Trump being Trump certainly was a factor. I cannot think of one solitaire group or class of people that he did not piss off. Except foreign countries that rhe Us and our allies have had prior hostile relationships with, usually for crimes against humanity and little things like that.

That is 96% of the Nov 3 turnout, not 96% of registered voters.

I hope that Ganesha and Jesus (and Allah, Buddha and all the gods and holy figures from all faiths) work their magic and defeat the demon Trump and his minions.

And for me, the heroes of this year are the Black Americans. Thank you for everything. And Stacy Abrams - you are a Goddess!

Until everything gets certified, please just pray for these two victories for the Democratic party candidates. We are seeing too much death and destruction and we cannot see America destroyed by evil-doers.

I am praying Maa Durga - Mahishasur mardini, durgati nashini!

Lots of your fellow Indian Americans have been saying lots of prayers. I got to tell my mom that praying finally worked!

A woman of Christian faith praying for the same and agreeing with you! The universe hears a consciousness in agreement.

This has been stated again and again.... Trump is an idiot and he and his cult followers constantly shoot themselves in the foot; their strategy can be summed up in the adage "cut off my nose to spite my face".

Think about how Trump handled covid and the messaging around it in relation to the covid vaccine. If you keep saying that it's just a flu, and the pandemic is a hoax, then people who believe you won't get the vaccine, which prolongs the pandemic, which is IMO one of the reasons why Trump lost, because of the way he managed the pandemic.

That's just one example of how Trump shoots himself in the foot.

The man lost millions of dollars over the years. Everytime being bailed out by his father, stupid bankers like deutsche bank, and then who knows who else. Complete fraud and all he's been doing since the election is projecting. I don't understand the people that still fall for his crap.

Oh wait, you mean trump hasn’t actually been playing four-dimensional chess all this time and he’s actually just a cable news watching bozo?! I won’t believe it! He is my leader and my god

+1 same here.. former R turned Independent, siding with D. For the first time in my life I donated to an election, the GA one, triple figure.

cheers to you. thank you.

I have a lot of republicans in my family, mostly small business immigrants. Yeah, most turned blue over the last four years.

Let it ride. If that’s true, people will have to face the repercussions of their actions.
