Mitch is the GOP - why would he despise it?

He just got cocky. He won re-election in November 2020 under the same exact scenario while blocking virtually the same exact proposal. And so did 7 other Republican Senators. It was a gamble and he lost.

Think about how Trump handled covid and the messaging around it in relation to the covid vaccine. That's just one example of how Trump shoots himself in the foot.
