Yeah.

Know what the death rate is in the 0-9 age category? (Cue Dean Wormer voice). “Zero point Zero”

Although it is low in kids, but based on China's data, it is 0.2%

No, that’s the percentage of kids out of total infections.

Guns have come up a couple times in this thread. We don't have any -- but are second guessing that. If we go down that route, what type would dcum recommend? Pistol? Shotgun? (Please assume we would take all necessary training and precautions for whatever firearm we get).

I just chastised my daughter for eating a few bags of dehydrated bananas and apples...

Vodka? It’s 40%. Which is just a concentration step for me, who can do it. 80 proof in, 170 proof out.

Well lookie here who’s stock just went up?! Maybe the cornflake mash I just put up to ferment gets turned into disinfectant instead of sippin whiskey. Hmmmm

Sure thing. And when Junior visits grandma or grandpa at their nursing home and infects them, even though Junior is fine, what do you think happens next?

So maybe don’t go visit? I was just at my mom’s independent living place today and they had a sign asking everyone with any respiratory symptoms themselves or in their households to please call or FaceTime instead of coming in,person.

I think the point is just that even though it may be a mere inconvenience for you (the hypothetical sick one), it is more than that for others. So unless everyone is willing to self quarantine at the beginning of a sniffle, to say that one demographic has a good outlook is fairly meaningless.

There are a lot of medications made in China. The CDC already knows of a shortage of one, but won’t reveal what it is.

I notice that OTC cold medicine doesn’t seem to be replenished. I think people will want to grab that while they can. I bought OTC allergy medicines as well because my eyes are already itching and it is just March. I take two different OTC allergy meds daily from March to November (that’s hundreds of pills) so I really do need to stock up.

My neighborhood CVS has pulled a lot of packages to the very front of the shelves. As you pass by, the shelves seem full. But if you take a package there’s often nothing behind it or maybe just one more item.

Hand sanitizer is nationwide. Cleaners and bleach? Go to a dollar store in a poor neighborhood- I bet you’ll find a bunch

I would assume Trump country like Kentucky or Alabama would have plenty of sanitizer, as none of them believe this is real.

I'm very much in Trump country right now (TN) and there's no sanitizer, bleach, etc to be found. Food and other supplies are pretty untouched right now with the exception of rice.

My dad is a janitor in Trump country. He works for a state agency. Told me they were out of hand sanitizer and Clorox wipes. The warehouse they order from is out. The warehouse their warehouse orders from is back ordered until June.

Anonymous wrote:Any low carb people stocking up? What are you getting?

Filling up the freezer with meat, making some egg-based casseroles to freeze, and stocking a lot of almond milk (shelf-stable) to go with all of the protein powder I have.

And rice. Because, well, you never know.

That's totally me!

Then we faux shape each other when someone in the house eats something “good”.

What are you doing eating a peanut butter sandwich?! That’s our shut in food!

OMG. I just scolded my teen for eating a granola protein bar from our cupboard! Now I feel the need to go and buy another box from the grocery store.....

Same here. Shelf stable junk food crap is so enticing...
