Point being to all this discussion, if you're kid is on one of these 8 teams ... your kid is one of the top 150 players in their age group and gender (assuming 18 per team and 8 teams). That's a great accomplishment for them. Keep it up and good luck next season!!
None of those players were offered FT positions on the DA is why they left. They valued playing time the most important.

Just my opinion, but it’s all year to year, no matter where you are. Coaches move on, clubs relocate, players move.
Taking things a year at a time is the norm and good for you and your child. You can continually reassess and shift course as needed. As far as metro United for the upcoming year, they will have good coaches, a great environment, smaller rosters, very high level competition, and lots of exposure to college coaches. I wouldn’t say the removal of Spirit from the equation is a reason to stay away. It’s actually an opportunity. You can always reassess in the spring as needed. As you should no matter which club you choose this year.

This is a non mean question so please refrain from usual hostility. I am curious as to why Reston got the Spirit DA franchise? Isn’t it supposed to be so hard to get a DA? Is this a year to year thing? I think there may be more interested parents if this is something that has sustainability. Right now it seems a lot of questions. Just to be honest.

Arlington 05s picked up a player from Loudoun in the spring and some players from NVSC for next season.
Wow. NVSC to Arlington. Sounds like Evergreen to St. James type of commute!

Arlington 05s picked up a player from Loudoun in the spring and some players from NVSC for next season.

Yes, MU will be adding talent to some teams and also will have less players that were diluting the field. Some are being cut, and some just won't be returning.

There is only a smattering of examples of head to head competition and they are dated relative to next years teams. Hardly enoigh for the previous lists to have any validity DA vs ECNL as a whole.
VDA played Spirit MD and VA just this past February and didn't beat either team! That is hardly a game from the time of Antiquity.
VDA 04 beat Spirit 2-0. So specify the age group. I mean, I know you're 05 but tell everyone else so they can follow
I agree, most of the talk on this thread is from 05 parents.
That said, I think every Spirit VA team beat every VDA team except the 04s. And to be balanced and fair, I think VDA has a very strong 04 team in general. They always beat them when VDA was a DA team too.
