They had one other episode there, when Randall stopped off there with his bio father to "meet" his dad. I'm guessing they scattered his ashes there.

I was thinking the storyline of the little boy in foster care was going to be that kevin finally gets his shit together and he becomes the foster parent.

This show was not the heart-tugging sobfest the media is making it out to be. I think the audience has been waiting 2 years for this so it was not as emotional as it would be otherwise.

Even if she herself would have gone back in for the dog, the anger part isn't always rational. But TBH he wasn't going back in because he wanted to save the dog, he wanted to go back in to be Kate's hero and maybe Becca's and assumed it was going to be OK. Grown Kate actually kind of nails that and I can't imagine the guilt she would carry, I would too, even though it wasn't her fault, she was a scared kid(17 but still) and that was her dog/ world. I think the "your father was the most perfect man" bits they are doing aren't doing them any favors in their lives- he of COURSE had flaws, one was needing to feel like a hero, which I think drove him to go back in more than actually wanting that dog or photos.

It was a flash forward. The social worker in that scene was grown up Tess. Randall came to have lunch with her.

I didn’t cry during the fire-starting episode either, even though it was BRUTAL. I did tear up when I watched it a second time.
