Yes they are superior right now (or girls not boys. But what exactly makes them superior? Is there a special formula or sauce that ECNL has that other leagues do not? No, the only thing that makes them superior is that they have more of ther top clubs. If clubs find a better deal somewhere else and leave, ECNL is not superior anymore. Maybe ECNL got too dominant and clubs had no say anymore, forcing them into alliances they didn't want to do, forcing them to have boys teams, and now given the chance the clubs who are strong enough to break off are doing it.

nah, just reality. Who knows..ECNL may drop an announcement today.

1. They can be if it’s tiered.
2. That’s interesting. Go look at a couple of ECRL clubs (1st team) records.

Team Boca, Coastal Rush, and Sunrise surf are great examples of clubs that could beat and are probably better than NL clubs (tbu, fl west, sc united, Orlando city)…

You are down playing clubs in ECRL.

It's also clubs with an average girls ECNL program and an above average boys ECNL program. (Which applies to all kinds of clubs.)

In this situation it 100% makes sense to switch over to GA/MLSN

In this world that can quickly change, strength + strength doesn't always make things better. These moves are for the future. Look at SYC for example, first year in GA and their two strongest teams are their two youngest, the rest are about middle of the pack because impact players U15+ aren't necessarily looking to be on the move to GA.

Yep, clubs all over are watching. Seeing clubs break free, have a little more freedom, and having two different entities (MLSN+ga) manage the leagues and clubs. wonder how many ECNL kids in areas like south FL and SoCal would love to play MLSN.

You are correct about that. And from what it looks like, GA is looking to rebuild a better version of DA.

I bet all of the old DA clubs are sitting back watching and waiting for “the call”.

There was always a plan to rebuild GDA and what you are witnessing is just that.

Probably true for most but without outing myself definetly read the tea leaves a year ago that these alliances don't work unless partner clubs are equally inferior. This is why VDA works and Union and NVA have not worked. Loudoun and McLean egos are too big to function in any alliance or union. Their ability to pivot to their own entity and in a competitor league must be pretty terrfying to ECNL brass.

You are hoping it does nothing. There is a chance it does something otherwise why would McLean do it? You have to at least acknowledge there is a chance it does something. Maybe the chances are 50/50, maybe 70/30, but it's not nothing. History tells us the girls soccer landscape will not look the same as it does now for very long.
