It’s really not. It just reinforces the chaos that surrounds Trump for non-MAGA normies.

Teleprompters are still intact. Watch the footage. Are you watching MSNBC instead?.......

Very conservative newsmax says they were told by Pennsylvania police that they think it’s glass fragments that hit Trump.

Stop spreading this , it is wrong!

There is NO credible evidence that Trump was hit by a bullet.

He said he was on Truth Social .

Try to keep up!

A poorly trained assassin. His parents must be so proud.

They are reporting that he hadn’t lined up his shot before he was spotted and pursued by SS. An antendee saw the shooter setting up the shot and tipped SS off.

Maybe he shouldn't have picked such an obvious spot. Again, poorly trained. Mission failed.

Scalise shot. Trump shot. SCOTUS judges needing increased security after rulings like Roe vs Wade to the point that Garland authorized 24-7 protection. Biden saying Trump belongs in the crosshairs. What alternate world are you living in?

But no worries about things like RW kidnapping plots against Whitman in Michigan, or the conspiracy theory guy who almost killed Pelosi's husband, the threats against Ruby Freeman and Shaye Moss, or Pelosi on Jan 6 (or even Mike Pence), Roger Stone's photo of Judge Amy Berman Jackson in crosshairs, Trump's bloodbath and fight like hell comments.

Also Roger Stone:
And in a documentary film about his role in helping Mr. Trump remain in power after losing the 2020 election, Mr. Stone was caught on camera laying out plans to create and exploit uncertainty about the election results to help Mr. Trump cling to power.

“Let’s get right to the violence,” he says at one point. “Shoot to kill.”

This is what the GOP has explicitly asked for. Democratic calls to tone down the rhetoric are met with jeers, essentially.

No political figure has ever stoked as much violence as Trump. He’s supported neo nazis, undermined our elections, and stoked violence against his own VP and political candidate. So no, I don’t feel any sympathy for him. What goes around comes around.

We can be against everything Trump stands for but still be sympathetic to the plight of all politicians and rally-goers who are victims of gun violence. It appears that Trump nearly lost his life tonight. One of his supporters died. This is not OK.

Yes, it's well known that Trump has incited violence multiple times and has denied the dangers of Covid such that many of his supporters died of it. You can deplore the act without liking the man. But if you're going to hold the higher moral ground, instead of wallowing in the mud with this guy, then you can damm well express decent sorrow that he was shot at tonight, and that someone died.

I am deeply sorry that one of his supporters died. That is tragic. But that's on Trump. He has incited so much violence that it's no surprise that someone, probably mentally ill, turned the violence on him. His supporter was an innocent victim, and my heart goes out to his family. But Trump is to blame for this. He loves guns, and has outright told the NRA that their guns will be safe as long as he is president. He will not attempt to control guns at all. You reap what you sow. This is all on Trump.

Dear God.
The death of one of his supporters is all on the nutbag who thought it was a good idea to carry out an assassination attempt on a former president and a current presidential candidate.
Don't try to blame Trump for the violence carried out by this idiot.

And why not blame Trump? He's constantly talking about how terrible our country is, how violent our country is, how out of control crime is, how he'll never control guns in this country, how he's going to put his opponents in jail, how he's going to be dictator for a day, how he's going to get vengeance on his enemies, how the immigrants are violent criminals who are poisoning the blood of America and how his supporters have to FIGHT BACK against pretty much anyone and anything that opposes HIM. Anger is all he has to sell to his supporters, so YES, this is all on him. It's his fault. He incites violence, and a crazy man attacks him, as so many crazy people with access to guns in the US attack innocent people.

Does Trump promote peace? Does he eschew violence? Does he??? Does he??

WTF does this man expect?? What do you expect if you support this rapist felon pedophile??

My sympathies to the victims of this terrible gun violence. Violence has no place in politics.

Well said.

Unfortunately a couple of his rally attendees were not so fortunate.

It sounds like his protection was inadequate although perfectly competent. There just weren’t enough of them. Not surprised since Biden and co wanted SS protection actually stripped from Trump.

That's a lie. A member of congress floated the idea of reducing SS protection in the event Trump goes to jail for his felonies, given the impracticalities of a large security detail in a prison. VERY different. There was never any plan to reduce protection on the campaign trail.

They aren’t going to announce that on Twitter. How naive are you.

Reminds me of when he disparaged masks and his supporters died of COVID. That guy has nine lives. Everyone around him suffers but he comes through.

Seriously Trump to blame for Trump being shot. Not Biden admin for denying his requests for more protection?

Trump has a hit list and a man working on it (“self appointed” probably means, “I need a little distance from this until my supporters are charged up enough”). He has encouraged violence at all levels, the GOP has encouraged more guns everywhere (but at their rallies), they have used the most disgusting charged language.

I’m betting “Mr. Antifa” is going to turn out to be a right winger. Cesar Sayoc. David DePape. All the little maga who have been threatening Democrats in Congress; you cannot ride the tiger, Republicans. You should probably stop trying to cause violence and calling our country a dump like you do.

Weren't you just betting that this was all staged?

You are so cheeky! Keep it up, the best use of sarcasm in years.

That's what you effing GOP say every time there's a mass shooting in the US instead of jumping on this problem and banning assault weapons, banning bump stocks, banning armor piercing bullets, etc. etc.

There's NO GUN CRIME in the UK and other countries where they have banned these lethal weapons, and keep guns out of the hands of mentally ill people, even though they have lots of guns used for hunting, target practice, etc.
