That’s my point. You want to celebrate the students whej it was students that allowed this to go on for hours because they couldn’t bother notifying people fricials that their classmate got shot. If this snitches get stitches attitude is pervasive at magruder then there will be other incidents . How will you feel after another incident? That’s why you should care .

MCPS - does it have an anti-gang task force? If not, one should be demanded.

That Magruder had repeated threats in Dec and such a flat footed response last week is unacceptable. The delays and minimizing re: the call could have made a difference in the outcome for the victim, still praying he recovers. They should have drilled and been on TOP of their game.

+1 I started the thread in Local Politics for all Independents and Rs to switch to D for this reason.

We are never going to get a R in any leadership position in the county. That doesn't bother me that much, but what bothers me is that the uber progressives are destroying our schools. As someone else stated, local politics have more of an impact on your daily life than national politics.

Don't fret over what party you are registered for. Fret over what is in your control - local politics. Switch to Dem and make your vote county by voting in moderates. That is the best that a R in MoCo can do for themselves. Otherwise, you are just throwing your vote away, and not trying to do something about bringing the county back to the middle.

Someone put up some facts about the % of Rs and non party affiliated voters in the county. Combined, and with a small slice of registered Dem, we can vote in moderates.

It's easy to switch parties in MoCo. I did it during the 2016 election to vote for anyone else but Trump in the R primaries, then switched back to have a vote in local politics. Don't just whine and complain about the direction of this county. Go vote and do something about it.

I had watched the entire video of that episode and thought the two officers behaved terribly — extremely in professional and like they had no idea of child development. But Jawando said a bunch of things that were just not accurate—I got the impression that he had not actually watched the video, but instead only watched the clips that were on the news. I was shocked that he had not taken the hour to watch the whole video before appearing on national TV.

He’s being raised in one of the most affluent counties in the country with a top school system surrounded by good people even if his own family is lower class and lacks class. Opting to shoot someone tells us he can’t be trusted. Reckless and violent. Sad.
