I’ll have to look. I thought they were simply showing generic patriots footage, like from other games.

Real footage from last night’s game. Patriots interception on tipped pass in the second game scene.

Yes, very cool.

I’m another one who likes Kate less after last night.

He knew. I thought the scene where Rebecca was on the phone with the hotel, and then with Kate, was masterfully done. You barely even notice the staff rushing out of the frame at first, and the way she kept turning was so natural. And then the candy bar scene. OMG. Mandy Moore is really a wonderful actress. You could just tell she was having an out of body experience, not understanding what the doctor was saying, not registering. Such a powerful scene.

Mandy Moore was really brilliant in this episode.

+1 I've been so impressed with her this season. Which is funny, because I often considered her the weak link in season 1.

I've realized that whenever I cry during this show, it's maybe 10 percent what's going on onscreen, and 90 percent of my own crap I'm bringing into it. The hospital scenes (first William, now this) completely gut me because of memories of my mother's last days in the hospital.

I was a wreck--also for my own crap. My dad is dying so that's obvious, but then Randall's stuff about being a good dad and how easy it was because his world was transformed when Tess was born, and Kevin's promise to become a better man made me lose it, because it makes me wish that my ex was like that and that my kids had a better dad (not that he's awful or anything, but family never was and never will be his first priority).

I think that level of heroics was completely unrealistic.

Really? I think a lot of people go back in for the dog. You can hear it barking. And then you are in so you grab a few things. But yes, I woukd be mad if I were her. I wonder if at some point she lets Kate have it. Kate did not stop her dad from going back in.

Yes. I could not stand the way she was just breaking down in her room during the fire. Like, shut up, pull it together, and listen to your father.

Just finished the episode. I’m in tears

Also, I would have hated and misunderstood the scene where Rebecca told Miguel if i was watching this years ago. But since a married friend with kids died, and I saw way too up close how these things unfold, this scene resonated with me and definitely caused more than a few tears.

Well done but nothing shocking with the fire and Jack stuff.

I love Kevin and Rebecca navigating all of this together.

And my jaw dropped when I realized it was Tess. I was loving the scene with young Tess, and trying to figure out if they were going to end up with both the little boy and Deja. I've been underwhelmed lately with the show and this brought me right back in.

This show but makes me feel that much guiltier a bit being an impatient parent to teens. They never lose their shit!
