I think a lot about which incoming Virginia AG will stand up to the federal government to protect Virginians. I don't think Miyares would sue if a similar case happened to Virginia.
Nineteen states sued the federal government to try to stop the Trump administration's mass firings of federal employees. Miyares did not join in, despite the large number of federal employees in Virginia.
What happens if National Guard members are deployed to Virginia against the governor's wishes? If there's a federal abortion ban? If the Trump administration attempts to assert control over the the state's colleges or takes funding away from them? If there are federal attempts to change our state elections?
I want an AG who will protect Virginia, not one who will stay quiet as a federal government tromps over states rights.
These aren't normal times. Our voting needs to reflect that.

Let's be clear: Jay Jones was absolutely right in his point that Republicans will endorse harmful policies until those harmful policies personally affect them. But I'm sure he's learned a valuable lesson about not using tasteless humor to make his points, and won't repeat the mistake.
On the other hand, Miyares will advocate for the harmful policies that Jay Jones warned about.
Easy choice between the two.
Exactly.
Take a step back and look at the actions.
Do you want the person who is actually doing harm vs the guy who wrote tasteless texts because he’s frustrated by a person doing harm?
Tasteless? That is what you call them? Tasteless?
Those texts were not a joke. He was given multiple chances to back down. He didn't. He doubled down.
Those texts reveal who he is. He is not someone who can execute the role of AG in a fair manner. He has disdain for his opposition. He cannot faithfully prosecute criminal actions. He has pulled the curtain back and shown his rage.
Miyares has NOT caused harm to anyone. He has actually shown that he protects Virginians.
The only hope that Jones has at this point is that enough Democrats voted before these texts were made public so it pushes him over the line. And, should he win, he should immediately resign because he simply cannot be trusted. Every action he takes will be questioned. Every case he prosecutes will be scrutinized and criticized. And, rightly so.
But, I don't think he is going to win. He certainly doesn't deserve to.

Sorry to disappoint but a red wave it will be.
Polls aren’t supporting this claim.
