Got another GA surprise coming????
Is the dissolution of another ECNL alliance a surprise at this point?
Teaser for annoucement:
Welcome to GA - NVA ECNL
Welcome to GAAspire - Loudoun RL and Valor RL
So where does that ECNL badge go to???
No where in VA, they are set at 3 ECNL and 3 GA (excluding TSJ for obvious reasons they will be Aspiring about FCV in the second tier)
This aligns with our neighbors in MD so makes sense to me. They also have 3 ECNL and 3 GA....but the birdies are singing a tune for that badge to go to MD for another ECNL team in MoCo. This club would be in Potomac and would poach from McLean, GFR, and BSC's lefotvers in MoCo.
But it won't be 3 and 3....it'll be 8 (or 9) total:
1. Arlington (ECNL)
2. VDA (ECNL)
3. Union (ECNL)
1. Loudoun GA
2. McLean GA
3. SYC GA
Ok 7 I totally forgot about VRSC. Could still only be in 3 GA when TSJ and VRSC are demoted GAAspire. So standing by my 6 in no particular order. Has to be said track record of GA clubs is night and day better than the ECNL. Let's see where the girls migrate to...
Truth is there is so much change happening it's impossible to predict. Just 2 years ago there was 5 ECNL + 1 GA and most were predicting the demise of GA. Now in just 2 years we're at 3 ECNL, 3 GA (or more). Nobody predicted that. Nobody 2 years ago would have had Mclean existing ECNL on their bingo card. Best to not listen to any of the know it alls on this forum because they have been wrong almost all of the time. No reason to think they will be right this time.

First big clubs to switch to GA/MLSN will get thr best deals.
Don’t think many will jump this year.
They will wait for 26/27

Nah, NVA will be their biggest pick up this cycle.

No McLean, No Loudoun, ASA will switch to Aspire too
Arlington to Aspire?
I think they meant Alexandria, not Arlington.... seeing how Alexandria already has MLSNEXT
Correct, thank you.
