My 60ish coworker was lamenting the Czech neighborhood that used to be in our city and said "I don't know what happened to all those people. I guess they moved to the suburbs or something" and I said "They mixed with everyone else! Do you know how many 1/4 Czech people are out there? Like myself?"
They got no government assistance. That's the difference people care about.

My great-grandparents got no government assistance and they lived squalid lives. 10 people in a tiny 1 bedroom, 1 bathroom house. Lots of drinking and probably not a little bit of violence. Would have been greatly helped by some government assistance.

Yeah, we know. Immigration starts the minute after your immigrant ancestor arrived.

My people were here at the founding, so no immigrants in my family tree.

Unless your ancestors were native american, they were not here at the founding, they were the first violent conquerors. And even the native american tribes migrated from other areas at some point in the distant past.

He barely answered the question on whether Israel should fire a preemptive strike on Iran. Instead, he ran out the clock thanking the sponsors and telling his long personal bio.
