Flag football is on the rise, which is fine of course for flag football/ sports families. But the problem that will further stymie the ST James FC (at the St James in Springfield) will be the increased competition for space in their field house -which cuts the size and availability for soccer players to use the space.
Not talking flag, they just hired a big name local HS coach, they're shooting to build a program like IMG has it appears. The question is, where are the resources? They have no space for all of this.
St James is a private for profit business that has been operating successfully for 7 years. I'm sure they hired a big name coach and put out press announcements without giving any thought to how the space will work. In businesses these things are planned out long in advance before they get funded. You have no idea of their business plan, nor should you because you don't work there. It's either arrogance or ignorance on your part to make comments on their business strategy from the cheap seats. I vote for the latter.
7 years is not an impressive length of time to stay in business. This football news is foolish at best and I venture to predict that it will bite them in the ass.

I’ve been trying to get some details on TSJStriker & GK clinics as my kid gets basically no GK training at the current club. I’ve emailed Chris directly after Adam originally connected us maybe 2 weeks ago, but still nothing. I went ahead and registered for the GK clinic since it’s only through early March and with all this snow, my kid can’t really get “training”. Does anyone have insight on the GK training? Is it actual training or more like here stand in goal and figure out how to save the shots from the strikers who signed up for the clinic?
It's very good GK training. Usually 6 GKs max, they get a lot of technical instruction and finish with a scrimmage in goal against the strikers. More kids enrolled in winter months and less kids in the summer months.
