The school board is 12-0 Democratic because local Republicans are a bunch of rancid bigots and fascists, and the good people of Fairfax County vote accordingly, against that. If Republicans ran candidates who had a basic sense of human decency, they would compete, and win a few seats. Democrats would be a majority anyway based simply on so many Fairfax County voters liking Democrats. But we get to a 12-0 monopoly only because Republicans consistently prove they are unworthy of any respect at all. Maureen Brody is a fascist and terrorist who admits to getting teargassed trying to storm the U.S. Capitol in the January 6 terrorist attack. Harry Jackson is a violent wife-beating thug and rancid bigot who has no place in civilized society. Tony Sabio exposed himself on Twitter as fascist Trump trash approving of violence to keep/put Trump in power. The list goes on. The dimwits here championing this pathetic lot of losers are, well, yourselves a pathetic lot of losers.
I'm curious what you creatures on the GOP side think you're going to get for all this. You just lose everyone's respect whenever people IRL match you with your musings. Maybe you'd be happier living elsewhere? People commute from Fauquier and beyond. You're just embarrassing yourselves into getting zeroed out completely here. You're certainly not doing Pat Herrity any favors, as he tries to avoid association with his own party to keep surviving in this twilight of his career.
A viable 2-party system requires 2 parties that both behave responsibly. Only Democrats fit that description today.
Very well said.
This wasn't "well said." If it were "well said," PP would have found a few other words to use besides "rancid" and "fascist," both of which made PP look silly and unhinged. And at a time when we see on the global stage the negative consequences of extreme polarization, demonizing one's political adversaries to this degree - particularly when we all know Democrats will retain control of the School Board and the only issue is whether there's room for any contrary perspectives - is wildly over-the-top and unnecessary.
It was absolutely well said, even if you don’t want to hear it.
Fighting to overthrow election results is fascist.
DP. In a more relevant scenario to schools in FCPS, the entire Democrat School Board and Superintendent acted as fascists by overthrowing the right of members of the community to have their voices heard through the results of the survey created by the same FCPS. They did so because an overwhelming majority of parents, students, and staff didn’t agree with their proposed approach on how to teach sex-ed and the inclusion of gender identity. In the words of Superintendent Reid, “Honestly, the majority doesn’t always dictate, right?”
Come to think about it, they resemble more a dictatorship, which may be why some posters in this thread don’t seem to connect the fascists at the all Democrat School Board with the need to replace them.
The survey was flawed. Easily spammed by RWNJ parents.
It’s always a “heads I win, tails you lose” situation with the current School Board when it comes to public input.
If the input supports their position, it will be touted as “strong public support.” If it does not, the results will be ignored or discounted, with a typical pretext being that a survey was flawed.
Yet one more reason why we need more diversity of views on the school board.

Anyway, the proposal didn't pass so it looks like they did follow "public opinion" after all.
So the only fascism we are left with here is the Republican SB candidate who was tear gassed at the Capitol.
I debated whether I would engage with a troll, but decided I want to see your (*credible*) links proving that any of these candidates was tear-gassed at the Capitol. Oh, and also that one of them is a “wife beater.” Provide links or STFU.
Everyone who disagrees with you isn’t a “troll”.
I didn’t post anything about a “wife beater”.

Completely agree.
Additionally, when they bullied kids into wearing masks long after it was established they were considered medically unnecessary and were no longer a mandate per the Governor of Virginia, the ones more affected by the illegal enforcement of masks were students with special needs. Also, why their silence on the fentanyl crisis that has permeated our schools and has already taken so many young lives across the country?
They aren’t silent on fentanyl.

The Fairfax County, Virginia, school board approved a plan Thursday night to provide staff and students with access to fentanyl testing strips and to place Narcan in all classrooms.
The board is also looking at the possibility of creating a special high school for kids to recover from addiction.
The proposal was co-sponsored by school board members Karl Frisch and Laura Jane Cohen.
+1. Narcan is actually saving lives. What else can the school board do on fentanyl besides try to prevent overdoses?
It's called using law enforcement to stop the sale and distribution of drugs in the schools by disrupting its network.

But it actually is. There are even physics equations for this.
I'm sorry but just to clarify, you are you under the impression that there are physics equations that apply to an understanding of human rights?
Yes. we all live within the parameters of the science of the world and ourselves. The equations we make deal with the environment as well as human behavior and rights we deem appropriate in society.
Laws of energy apply to human rights and behavior just like all other physical laws of the world do.
There are entire fields of study that revolve around this.

Do they actually do this? I only ask because they don’t stock our ES staff restroom with them. The school used to even have wall dispensers but they took those out of the staff restrooms last year.
