WW u19 stacked with committed players and still can’t win their pool (lower tier) and have not won any major regional or national level tournament in the past few years. Committed players to Columbia, Syracuse, Farfield, BU, Davidson, Lafayette, Amherst, Longwood. Also, the team has so many players, the lower tiered players were combined with another club to play at this tournament not coached by WW or under WW team name. So clearly it was WW top team. You would think if the goal like WC eagles is for players who are uncommitted to showcase, WW would have left their committed players at home so the other players could play under the WW name along with a team they practice with and be coached by WW coaches versus be out in a random team or stand on the sidelines “cheering” or as the coach would say “learning by watching the better players” play.

Their record shows in major national and even local tournaments, they are not elite. Just average. The owner will help on college recruiting for her favorites and many have done well in the past. Current class of 2025s and 2026s have not faired great (Wolves got an a few players that were already committed transferring over to them in 2026 recruiting year). It’s a great club from a social angle. Children goof off, laugh etc. Paying close to 4K a year for that excluding travel, uniform , I think it’s too much for misuse of practice time (way too much standing around), favorites getting true coaching and touches on ball, and very limited playing time even at the lower ages. Again, a good average club but 4K is a steep price tag for average and limited skill growth.
What do you consider an elite club in the DMV?
Agreed. Mostly made up of players from Maryland. Not a lot of players from Northern Virginia because the ride is still too far. Great club. Even their lower tiered teams are good.
Freedom A team - best in the DMV

Probably explains why they are not winning. Also have heard that those ex-Husel players like to bicker and point fingers on the field.

There are absolutely committed players at SS Thanksgiving playing for their clubs. Should they just stop competing once they are committed, no. They still want to improve their game and this is an opportunity to do so.
The way some of the posters disparage players and clubs speaks volumes about them as humans. Just stop. I’m not sure if it is a misery loves company situation or what, but I ignore those posters.
Honestly, I would like to see Wolves be the club it was about 8 years ago, but unfortunately, it's full of overhyped average athletes. Other than the Syracuse and Lafayette commits, there are no other current DI commits on that team.
+1

Is it good news when juniors and seniors in high school beat what was probably freshmen? Who wound up losing every game of the tournament? It was not a good post and I would suggest you refrain from them in the future.

That's not accurate. There are commits to Columbia and Fairfield on the current team. There are some other D1 commits listed but they are the players who came over from Husel who had already committed to those programs prior to joining the Wolves. [/quote
Okay, fine, they have two other so-so commits. The point is, a poster came on here bragging about Wolves beating WC without any understanding of actual field hockey competition. As far as I know, Wolves have never finished RCCs high enough to head to NCCs. They are a fine club, but not the one to come here bragging about.
