Wouldn't that be due at least in part to bad parenting? Look at how she publicly treated Diana and Harry. She's not all sunshine and rainbows. She definitely has a dark side.

You are judging her parenting by our standards which isn't fair. Plus, she was Queen and had certain duties along with being British we will never fully understand.

You have got to be kidding me. The rift is absolutely real. If anything’s not real it’s this obviously forced appearance of familial harmony.

I commented earlier in the thread and said Kate is pissed at being forced into this charade. Details coming out that this a very last minute arrangement after a phone call from Charles.

If there really is a rift then Wm or Kate are the ones that asked about skin color.

I doubt it. They are new and more politically correct generation. Its likely Philip or one of Charles's siblings.

It was Camilla I heard

Who cares. It should have been kept quiet

Is that bad? I guess it doesn't make one look particularly mature, but I tend to hold my husband's hand when I'm anxious. He loves me and supports me and his presence is soothing.

It’s not “bad” but it also isn’t a sign she and Harry are more “in love” as some PP’s are trying to argue. It just means William and Catherine are more comfortable and confidant at public appearances. Catherine has been at this a long time now and doesn’t need to hold her husband’s hand for reassurance.

NP. I have no idea. I thought they all acted with decorum and reverence.

Melania too. They just make it seem so effortless.

I don't judge Kate's behavior no matter what caused it (unless it stems from being flat-out racist which I suppose is a possibility), but I find would find it odd if the reason was her grief for her grandmother in law, especially when the grandchildren of the deceased were acting in ways I'd totally expect.

But…it’s not her relative. A bit entitled to be pissed that your FIL whose mom just died asks you to walk within two feet of your SIL. Like she’s not the first person to dislike an in law and aren’t royals supposed to have great soft skills? She was grinning like she had a gun to her head when her and William were ditched to their faces in that Caribbean tour. This should be small potatoes.

This is all press-manufactured drama. All four of them knew the queen would be dead in the near future and all of these events and photo ops have been planned for years. It looks tense because they are grieving and striving to look stoic. It’s not like they can be smiling and chummy.

How many women want him? Not that many. He broke up with 'waity kate' twice , hoping a woman from aristocratic circles would get the hint and take the bait—none did. The world has changed. These days, an aristocratic woman would rather marry a successful tech bro, entrepreneur or ball player than spend her time confined with a man whose only claim to fame is to have been born into hereditary, unearned privilege . This ain't 1850 my dear.

I won't insult your intelligence by suggesting that you really believe what you just posted. William had women lining up to get a piece of him include all the “aristocrats” in Europe..

Ah ah ah ah ah !!! Sure thing Rebecca. And he left all of that for the social climber and striver whom he doesn't heistate to remind that she isn't from the upper caste . *slow clap*

No one believes women aren’t lining up for him. You’d have to be a complete idiot to think otherwise.

He is the future King. Plenty are after him.

Yep! I would do it just for the vacations!

DP. But what PP is saying other aristos don’t need to marry someone for those benefits. They can do a lot of what he does and has for themselves and not have to deal with all of the drudgery and aggravation or kiss up to their FIL for clothes money (not a problem now that Charles was king now).

Prince William has released a statement on the Queen's death. He points out that he has lost his grandmother.

At the heart of all of this, William and Harry have lost their grandmother, Charles his mother. Add to that the strained relationships. Is it any wonder they look tense?
