I think gonzaga is FAR better than what their record shows/the lack of respect given to them. After watching Prep play on Friday, I noticed two close defenders who looked very athletic with good sticks. Offensively, I didn't notice any standout middies or attackers.

Please don't take this as a knock on their program as I know several families over at GP.

Predicting how strong a program will be 2 - 3 years based on the number of early commits and alleged younger talent is quite short sighted.

A non-Prep/IAC person who has no sons but knows/seen more youth through high school talent over the last five years recently (before Calverton v. Prep) told me the following about the short term future (next four years) of Prep lacrosse.

1) Spring 2017 (this year): Surprised a few schools (MIAA-A) with a solid win/loss record but would lose to Bullis and Landon (which they did). Still should be considered an overall success;
2) Spring 2018: Much improved over 2017 since they did not lose many seniors. The younger talent have had a year (or in some cases, two years) to mature. They should be a top team but will still lose to Landon (and maybe Bullis), although he would not be surprised if Prep managed a win against Landon;
3) Spring 2019: They should win the IAC, be the top team in the WaPo and possibly top 5 team nationally.
4) Spring 2020: Same as 2019.

Just FYI, Prep beat St. Albans fairly convincingly (pulled away in the second half). Prep is behind Landon and TransferTown HS (aka Bullis), but is ahead of STA, EHS, SSSAS. And before the Bullis people get mad at Prep, I'm not a Prep person.

Mmmmm, good thing this post is anonymous because it just makes you look like an asshole. Among other things, Episcopal has the top-rated 2018 lacrosse recruit, a UNC commit, and STA's goalie has committed to Yale. Two good teams in relative terms in a strong league that lack the depth of some of the other IAC teams. Most importantly, those are teams with kids who are trying their best to get better at lacrosse and represent their schools well. They deserve more than internet jackasses braying about them not mattering.

1. will never play professional sports;
2. will get into a good college regardless of LAX performance, because they're at a good private school;
3. will be able to afford said good college, because they're at a good private school whose tuition and LAX-related shenanigans you've been able to fund and mindfuck yourselves over for years;
4. will probably despise you for your overinvestment in their every athletic endeavor within a few years, max.
