I do not have a lot of options for pants for summer.

Women are buying capris because the sellers are pushing them.

I love the look at slim capri pants that hit mid-calf - the most dreaded style on this. No medical issues. Lady, enjoy your pants. They are the best. Pay the haters no mind.

I went to an event today and many men and women in their 40s and 50s were in attendance. Most of the men wore polo shirts tucked in under their pot bellies and shorts.

Nearly all the women wore capri pants. Capri pants do nothing for you. If you are short, you don't look good in capri pants. If you are fat, you don't look good in capri pants. If you are tall, you don't look good in capri pants. If you are thin, you don't look good in capri pants. No matter the body type or age, capri pants are not flattering.

I say this lovingly. Wear anything else- anything! Shorts (long shorts, if you want to; even short shorts look better than capris), a skirt, pants, anything but capri pants. They make everyone look stumpy and shapeless. No one looks good in them.

+1 😖 man I hate capri pants

I think you need to adjust your attitude and styling of the flowy longer pants. Look for a way to define your waist in them. Get a pair with a zipper and button closure instead of elastic or drawstring. Wear a belt. Tuck in your shirt. Or try a top with a more defined waist. There's no reason that full length, flowy pants should make you look heavy or boxy -- proportionally they should do the opposite. But women are often trained to think that extra fabric adds "bulk" to their frame. It's not true. As long as they fit you properly and are styled correctly with other pieces, they should actually elongate and slim.

Those trendy capris that come just an inch or two below the knee and are very fitted only look good on the slimmest possible women. A pair of flowy linen pants with a defined waist are MUCH more forgiving.

Eh, I buy capris because I like them. I prefer fitted, not wide legs.

Other summer pant options include lightweight khakis and cotton pants.

I love three quarter sleeves but for some weird reason they look like old fashioned maternity tops on me.

Sometimes I want to wear sneakers! I can't pull off sneakers with a knee length skirt. But i can pull them off with cropped pants.

Sneakers look great with a skirt!

Make no mistake-capris are back, particularly those that end just below the knee.
