I agree if this works, it's ingenious. Also, the citizens will not have the tolerance for a prolonged attack. Of course, Iran will probably run out of missiles because they are attacking everybody in the region except Oman, Turkey, and Egypt.

Higher oil prices just means more American production gets back online in the short term. And looking ahead, both Venezuela and Iran have enormous reserves. Once things stabilize and their production is brought to market, oil prices will be very low for a very long time. China is way ahead of the curve regardless. They want to reduce dependency on external sources of energy. And renewables like wind and solar are far, far cheaper than oil even when it's cheap. Plus China knows that the future is EV cars, and they are way ahead of America on that too. So short answer, China is just fine and well prepared for the future.
