Another Trump administration will do untold damage to this country. If not just in policy, then in psychological and cultural damage. It's sad that Democratic leadership wants to sit back and wait for 2028. That is too late and we all know it.

Normal people know that the DC-NYC talking heads are feeding a narrative right now. Axelrod - the guy criticizing Biden from his vacation home with his dumb dog barking in the background - is pretending like he knows what actual voters are thinking. The guy lives in a gilded bubble. Well I hope you’re right. Democrats who are nervous are being realistic about the electoral college loss in 2016 and the narrow win in 2020 (which should never have been that close).

Don’t hope, act. Find a campaign or organization to volunteer with. You can make calls from anywhere in the country. There is zero excuse for not doing SOMETHING.

Democracy is citizens participation. Voting is just one aspect.

Here’s the problem. When people think about the Democrat’s signature items, they’re the following: DEI, free Palestine, unlimited illegal immigration, student loan forgiveness, higher taxes, and more regulation.

Now, these might have their good points, but for most people in the US, these are issues or perspectives that don’t help them.

Much of the moderate Democratic vote more about keeping Trump out of office due to his autocratic and anti-NATO views than supporting Democratic policies.

People don’t like change, particularly fast or sudden change. Many of the signature progressive agenda items, like DEI, has p*ssed off people of most persuasions. When you sit through these sessions, you’re essentially indicted if anything other than a black person, and good luck if you’re qualified or even overqualified for a job but the wrong DEI skin color. This is the type of thing that turns 80% of the population against the Democrats.

While the Republicans float cultural issues too, most of them are status quo or traditional, do most people are fine with them or aren’t impacted by them.

I’m not saying that the country shouldn’t “progress”, but leaders have to bring people along on these issues, not mandate changes, especially when these policies impact employment, college admission, etc.

Also, there is a significant feeling that Democrats give away opportunities and wealth to some, while others have to work for the same. Say what you want, but many find that unfair. Example number one is student loan forgiveness.

The CNN team was a joke of a debate and wasn't even remotely hostile or anti-Trump. I've seen high school debates that were better run. Jake Tapper should be embarrassed.

Not sure what format you saw, but I have judged high school debate, and the judge isn't supposed to interrupt the students.

The CNN moderators did ask Trump followups, pointing out he didn't answer the question. They also gave Biden chances to respond to Trump's attacks that they didn't give Trump.
Crucially they tried to protect Biden and cover his dementia. They cut him off after 'We beat Medicare.'

Ironically if they had to do it over again they would have let Biden keep going, but they didn't have their marching orders yet.
