It's never hopeless, but it depends on your outlook:
I am resigned to Trump being President next year. Biden and his close circle of aides and relatives obviously don't get it, and after this shooting event, fewer people are pushing him to step aside.
So it seems Democrats want to learn their lesson the hard way - with 4 more years of Trump. Perhaps they're spend it mulling over all their mistakes, and come back stronger in 2028.

Normal people know that the DC-NYC talking heads are feeding a narrative right now. Axelrod - the guy criticizing Biden from his vacation home with his dumb dog barking in the background - is pretending like he knows what actual voters are thinking. The guy lives in a gilded bubble. Same with the rest of the clowns who answer to their donors in HCOL blue districts.
It's funny - the Democratic politicians on TV defending Biden are those who live in poor and working-class districts (House reps) or more blue-collar states (Senators).
Well I hope you’re right. Democrats who are nervous are being realistic about the electoral college loss in 2016 and the narrow win in 2020 (which should never have been that close).

But even if Dems win, the Supreme Court has done so much this year to stymie any liberal policy.
Gun control ain’t happening. The environment is fked and now will be more so with the loss of Chevron. Organized religion is fully breaking down the walls between the state and itself.
What the fk? What’s to be happy about?
Trump enacted more gun control than Biden.
And, aren’t you in favor of every private citizen in the US turning their guns over to the Trump administration, so that only the police and Trump’s military has all the guns?

They thought Trump would not show up. Odd, because Trump had repeatedly said he wanted to debate immediately.
Would love to hear the back story. How could Biden and his crew be so delusional? This is frankly as concerning as his debate performance.
They set a ton of rules/restrictions and had it moderated by a network and individuals who are very anti-Trump. I’m assuming they thought this would be enough to make Trump back out and look bad.
What are you talking about? The debate? It barely had any moderation at all. CNN merely asked the questions and kept time. When Trump repeatedly refused to answer questions and instead went off on tangents about totally unrelated things, they didn't stop him and redirect him to answer the question. They didn't do followups either. When Trump launched into gish gallops of hyperbolic lies they didn't do anything - even a high school debate doesn't allow that. The CNN team was a joke of a debate and wasn't even remotely hostile or anti-Trump. I've seen high school debates that were better run. Jake Tapper should be embarrassed.
