SR should have a great team, who recruits away high school girls around here?

Did M&D DC or Stars pickup any players?

M&D DC picked up players from BLC Blue, Stars, and Pride. They also beat Pride last season in the NGLL- don’t think it’s out of reach that they are better than Pride at least
Yep. Things are changing and a certain high school club program knows it, too.

That’s not true. Best players will end up at CLC. CLC will be best club team for this age group in DC.
You don't predict the future. They don't even have a team. From what I can gather, CLC should just worry about their '28s right now. Having to go with athletes because the top talent went north to the next beltway means they need to be coached up. And quickly, fall is around the corner.

Re: the 2028s, are you talking about players who left their MoCo teams summer 2023 or earlier?

Clearly a lot of 2030’s already headed north. Did the 2029’s have the same thing occur?

I’m aware of 3. Not aware of any more.

CLC will be the best 2030 team in high school. I’ll be happy to reup this post in 2-3 years.

If you mean better than YJMA and MND DC in high school then I think that’s prob correct but they won’t be near the northern teams.

I think I agree all teams will be too thin competing with each other for talent and with some of best girls on those top teams already.

It will likely work the same as every other class. Capital will consolidate the remaining local talent and it will take some time for the new team to gel. But eventually they will be “near” the top teams of M&D Black, Hero’s, and Skywalkers. High school is all about recruiting and the good players will set their sights on these teams with the strongest recruiting history because there will be little appetite for risk taking considering the stakes. This has been the formula for success, but I suppose trying some experimental alternative could potentiality work?

With M&D and YJ building a presence at this age it might not work the same for CLC on the 2030s, particularly if they don’t pull the top players from those teams together.

But why would the top players choose upstart M&D DC or YJMA over recruiting juggernaut Capital? What’s the cost/benefit analysis here? I only see downside risk.

Agreed. It is a massive leap of faith to stay on M&D DC over going to the most established program in the area for recruiting. I know if my daughter were on of the top 7 on the ‘29 team we’d be going to Capital for sure.
You guys are going to get pretty tired if you're starting this up this early. Half+ the Pride starters just went over. That group doesn't do that with one year left for no reason. They have arguably the top recruiter in the area heading it up now. Do you want me to say after Cap so you don't get snippy?

Capital's more urgent worry is hoping the '28s with all the Baltimore defections can still keep themselves competitive so this doesn't turn into a 2 year disaster before the talented '30s show up.

There have been no recent defections to Baltimore - the only defections at ‘28 happened about 4 years ago. Capital will be very strong at ‘28 as it consolidated the top talent from Pride, Stars and NL. Pride finished ranked 7th so with the additional strong players added there is no reason to believe this team will not go even higher. The ‘29s at MnD DC will be the first test case. I know it will be a tough decision for the stronger players on that team. Capital’s recruiting success is undeniable - I know what I’d be doing.

False. Many 28s left just two years ago or before last season. I don’t think all the talented players made cap blue for 28. That cap blue team will have a good amount of growing pains. And most likely changes to the roster within the next year

I had a daughter on the ‘28 team and is not at all true that “many” left two years ago or before last season (to Baltimore clubs). One left after this season to MDU because she moved and one left the year before to Hero’s. The rest of those quality players, wisely, went to Capital.

What '28 team are you referring too here? Sounds like you may not know much. Whether you like it or not, a lot of top 28s in the area are all playing on Baltimore teams now

MnD DC is building a strong 2029 team. We will get to see next summer if CLC can still pull the top talent in the DMV.

A lot of 2030 eyes and ears will be monitoring what happens with the MnD DC 29's. If they can keep their top girls then why not repeat the cycle for the 2030's. Will the SR coach try to pull any of her 2030's spread across YJ DMV and BLC? Was she involved with adding Prides 29's top girls this summer?

The 2030 SR lax players are now spread out at M&D, hero’s, YJMA, and BLC. I didn’t think their SR coach would do anything to try to pull them to one club in high school, it seems like their current high school players are at several different clubs.

Or you can see how M&D Shore works out for the 2026 over the next few months, as in theory, its the same thing, they bought a local LBC club and rebranded under the M&D umbrella. It did help them get into some tournaments they did not get in prior.

8th grade 2027 BLC finished #7 ranked.

The majority ended up at Capital along with some Pride 2027 players, a few Stars, etc.

The logic says they would be better than BLC #7, but reality is they finished 9th grade 15th. It takes time to come together and play as a team, Capital 28s will have same reality.

Like the optimism but this take is all wrong. Come back in 2 years and compare the cap 28 results to others.

I agree for M&D DC but the YJMA 2030 team was ranked 9-19 over this year’s season. So if they continue to play at that level and stick together they could be just as good as CLC in high school. We’ll see where their top players choose to go.

Find a Pride 2023 parent and ask them how this movie ends.

Pride is not a good example. That club is on a clear downtrend. Their only good were team the 28's and 29's. The good players from those teams just left.

Here are the final rankings of various Pride Red teams 8th grade year:

2028 - #7
2027 - #23
2026 - #9
2025 - #13

It does appear, though, they had some good teams before the mighty 2029s came along. I wish I could go back further.
